The village itself has a café, the fabulous Port Waterhouse, with pop up dining events and a bar open seasonally, along with being home to Salcombe paddle boarding, the village also boasts some fabulous sandy beaches along with direct access to the South West Coast Path- very scenic coastal walk or a mile along the Devon lanes takes you to The Gara Rock Hotel, serving delicious food with some of the best scenery a restaurant could provide, plus a spa and cinema room. The nearby village of South Pool also boasts a gastro pub, the Millbrook Inn. The bustling market town of Kingsbridge is a thirty minute drive away, with shops, pubs, eateries and a cinema and in the other direction along the picturesque coastal road is the historic Naval town of Dartmouth, again well serviced with amenities.

Blessed with more beaches than you can visit in a week, a jaw-dropping estuary and magnificent walks along the South West Coast Path, it’s also filled with local traditions. For example, there’s the Town Regatta, excellent sailing opportunities and an ice cream factory. There is also the Salcombe Gin Distillery, which has a bar overlooking the water serving Gin cocktails as well as excellent coffees.
