Casa Monte Queimado in Porto Pim, Horta

Our restored fisherman’s cottage is located in the heart of Porto Pim, in the desired seaside parish of Horta. From the outside terrace you have a commanding view of the beautiful bay to your left and the bustle of the harbour to your right.

The home is perched on the side of of Monte Queimado which forms one of the three natural reserves on Faial island, being part of the marine protected area Baía das Caldeirinhas.

The cottage was renovated in 2022 in order to offer a special and unique place to stay in town for our guests. The house was built over many decades from early the 1900s. The house therefore has a unique style being built up upon the side of Mount Queimado.

Be aware therefore that this style of build is not suitable for those with mobility issues or those who don't like stairs. The living room is on the ground floor, sleeping areas on the first floor and kitchen and bathroom on the second floor. The roof terrace and gardens are then accessed via an external staircase, but when you get there, it is well worth the climb, offering guests a commanding view over the beach, ocean, cityscape and harbour.
