About this property
BOBBIES' RETREAT, 20 HIGH STREET, pet friendly in Bridlington
20 High Street rests in Bridlington, and can sleep four people in three bedrooms
20 High Street is a beautifully renovated, Grade Il Listed Building circa 1820, resting in the bustling historic area of the seaside town of Bridlington. In May 2025 the East Riding of Yorkshire Council awarded the property its annual Chairman's Award - due to the contribution its renovation has made to the local historic built environment. Only 1.3km from both fantastic beaches but close to local amenities, and with stunning original features including wooden beams in the ceilings, exposed brickwork, and bedroom paneling, this property is an idyllic retreat for a family or friends looking for a getaway to the coast of the East Riding of Yorkshire. Enter into the property and find yourself in a simply dreamy sitting room, with the added ambience of a woodburning stove settled into an exposed-brick fireplace, whilst an alcove provides a bookcase for guests to make the most of. From here, make your way into the kitchen and be delighted by the traditional archway, and how this space seamlessly blends contemporary decor with traditional styling, offering a charming space to cook up a storm and dine together. The rear courtyard is ideal for alfresco dining, allowing guests to enjoy the fresh air as they toast to their getaway with a glass of fizz. The character and charm of the living spaces are continued into the three bedrooms, beginning on the first floor with an incredible four-posted double bed room with ceiling beams, wood panelling and a single bedroom, which share Jack-and-Jill access to a sleek shower room. Ascend to the second floor, where a pretty king-size bedroom can be set up as a twin on request, and also sports wooden beams and the main family bathroom. Bridlington Old Town is a historic Conservation Area, with 105 listed buildings close to the property. The Old Town town has plenty of independent shops, pubs, and eateries, and rests on final leg of the coast to coast cycle route, which passes the property itself. Visit the historic Bayle Gate (including a free museum), the ancient harbour, Sewerby Hall and Gardens, Danes Dyke woodland walks and the Bridlington Priory Church for a taste of history, before enjoying a meal in one of the local pubs or restaurants, with options including The Pack Horse, Black Lion, The Queens, The Old Ship & The Board. Nature enthusiasts will love a trip to the Bempton RSPB Nature Reserve, where there are clifftop walks and seaside views. The property has two long beaches on its doorstep, allowing guests to enjoy days spent basking in the sunshine or paddling in the waves. The Old Town hosts many festivals during the year, including the Vintage Festival, Open Gardens and part hosts a section of the Race the Waves event.
