About this property

Ski-In/Ski-Out Apartment in Courchevel 1650| Balcony Views | Sleeps 6 |3 Valleys

Flocon de Neige – Ski-In / Ski-Out Apartment in Courchevel 1650 (Moriond), Three Valleys

Flocon de Neige is a ski-in, ski-out apartment in Courchevel Moriond (1650), ideally located within the well-managed Domaine de l’Ariondaz. With direct access to the Three Valleys ski area, the largest linked ski area in the world, it provides an excellent base for exploring Courchevel, Méribel, Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville and Orelle.

Sleeping up to six guests, the apartment has been fully renovated from its original 1960s décor to create a warm, comfortable and practical alpine home. It is particularly well suited to families or small groups, and ideal for four guests sharing in comfort while still offering flexibility for larger parties.

Location & Access

The apartment is located on the top of three floors (with a penthouse above) in the first apartment block of the Domaine de l’Ariondaz. The building is served by a lift that opens directly outside the apartment door, making arrival, departure and daily access effortless. The lift also provides direct access to the ski locker level and the exit leading to the slopes.

Courchevel Moriond (1650) is known for its sunny aspect, relaxed atmosphere and excellent skiing, offering a more laid-back feel than Courchevel 1850 while retaining fast lift access and high-quality pistes. Shops, bars and restaurants are a short walk away, and Courchevel 1850 can be reached in around five minutes via the free ski bus, which stops directly outside the residence and runs frequently throughout the day and late into the evening.

Ski-In / Ski-Out & Three Valleys Access

Flocon de Neige benefits from genuine ski-in, ski-out access via the free Petit Moriond gondola, located approximately one minute from the boot room door. This gondola links directly to the ski front in Moriond and, via a short connecting piste, to the Ariondaz high-speed chairlift, providing fast access into the wider Three Valleys.

At the end of the day, guests can ski back via the blue Cépes piste, returning conveniently to the ski locker before taking the gondola back up to the residence. This easy access makes the apartment particularly popular with families and mixed-ability groups.

The Apartment

Bedrooms

The apartment comprises two comfortable bedrooms, both enjoying lovely valley views.

• Double bedroom with traditional wooden double bed, bedside cabinets and a large triple wardrobe
• Twin bedroom with two modern single beds, mirrored triple wardrobes and bedside cabinets

All bed linen, pillows, duvets and towels are provided. Both bedrooms are centrally heated, fitted with electric metal shutter blackout blinds, and offer ample storage. A mix of UK and EU plug sockets is available.

A comfortable double sofa bed is located in the lounge area and can be closed off at night if privacy is required.

Living & Dining Area

The open-plan living and dining space is designed to be sociable and relaxing. It features a large four-seater corner sofa, a two-seater sofa bed, coffee table, and a dining table seating six guests comfortably.

For entertainment, the apartment is equipped with:
• Smart TV
• DVD player
• Bluetooth speaker
• Media player with a hard drive fully loaded with films and TV series for adults and children
• A large DVD collection
• Board and card games
• Books

This makes the apartment ideal for cosy evenings after skiing.

Kitchen

The fully fitted kitchen is located off the dining area and is well equipped for self-catering. Appliances include a fan-assisted oven, ceramic hob, large fridge, microwave with combi grill, air fryer, toaster and dishwasher.

Guests will find ample crockery, cutlery, cookware (including saucepans, frying pans and a wok) and utensils, along with generous cupboard and drawer storage. A small supply of essentials such as tea, salt, pepper and sugar is provided.

Bathroom & Comfort

The bathroom includes a bath with fixed overhead shower, double sinks and a heated towel rail. There is also a separate toilet, which is particularly convenient for families and groups.

The apartment is warm and cosy throughout, with central heating and a constant supply of hot water, ensuring comfort even during the coldest winter weeks. The apartment is non-smoking throughout.

Balcony & Views

A south-west facing balcony leads off the lounge area and offers stunning open views across Courchevel 1650 and down the valley, with mountain scenery in both directions. About the host

Hosted by Mike Chesters

Host profile image
Flocon de Neige is owned by four friends from the UK, Ian, Stuart, Mike and Dawn, who purchased the apartment in 2008. After forming an SCI company in France in order to complete the purchase, they undertook a full renovation of the apartment, transforming it from its original condition into a comfortable and practical alpine home.

Three of the owners are teachers and one is a chartered surveyor, which means the apartment is regularly used during school holidays rather than being treated as a purely commercial rental. From the outset, the aim has always been to create a genuine home from home that works well for real life, not just short stays.

Over the years, the apartment has continued to evolve. Facilities and furnishings have been upgraded thoughtfully and gradually, with comfort, reliability and ease of use in mind. Many of the improvements have come directly from the owners’ own experiences of staying there, skiing from the door, cooking for family and friends, and relaxing after long days on the mountain.

Because the owners use the apartment themselves, it is carefully maintained and looked after, and attention is paid to the practical details that make a stay more enjoyable. Guests often comment on the relaxed, welcoming feel and the sense that the apartment has been genuinely lived in and cared for.

The owners take great pride in Flocon de Neige and enjoy sharing it with others. They look forward to welcoming you and hope you enjoy staying in the apartment as much as they have over the years.

Why they chose this property

After several holidays in the Three Valleys, including time spent in both Courchevel 1650 and Méribel, the four owners gradually fell in love with the quieter, more relaxed and family oriented feel of Moriond. While still offering direct access to world class skiing, Moriond felt more welcoming and down to earth, with a strong sense of community and a pace that suited both families and groups of friends.

At the time of purchase in 2008, Courchevel Moriond was less developed than some of its neighbouring resorts and had a distinctly village feel. Over the years, much like the apartment itself, the area has continued to evolve. Moriond has grown in size and popularity and is now firmly established as one of the most sought after parts of Courchevel, offering an excellent balance of high quality skiing, modern lift infrastructure, lively bars and restaurants, and a relaxed atmosphere away from the intensity of 1850.

Despite its growing reputation, Moriond has retained its welcoming character. It remains particularly popular with families and regular visitors who appreciate its sunny aspect, wide pistes, and easy access to the wider Three Valleys, while still being able to return at the end of the day to a calmer base.

The owners have enjoyed watching both the resort and the apartment develop over time, and Flocon de Neige has grown alongside Moriond into a place that feels established, comfortable and well loved. What was once a quieter corner of Courchevel has become a true hotspot in a cold climate, without losing the qualities that made it special in the first place.

This blend of atmosphere, convenience and genuine alpine charm is what continues to draw the owners back year after year, and what they hope guests will enjoy during their stay.

What makes this property unique

What makes Flocon de Neige unique is the combination of its genuine home from home feel, its exceptional location, and the personal care taken by the owners. This is not a generic rental property but a much loved apartment that has been enjoyed, maintained and improved by the same owners for many years.

From the moment you arrive, the apartment feels welcoming and lived in, with thoughtful touches that come from real use rather than staging. Guests often comment on how comfortable and easy it is to settle in, whether that is relaxing in the living area after skiing, cooking together in the well equipped kitchen, or enjoying a quiet morning with mountain views. The owners’ friendly and responsive correspondence before and during your stay adds to this relaxed experience and helps guests feel well looked after.

The views from the apartment are another standout feature. Looking out across Courchevel Moriond and down the valley, the scenery changes constantly with the light, weather and seasons. The south west facing balcony enjoys afternoon and evening sunshine and offers a peaceful place to unwind after a day on the slopes.

Flocon de Neige also benefits from true ski in ski out access, with the free Petit Moriond gondola just outside the boot room providing effortless access to the ski front and lifts. From here, guests can explore approximately 600 kilometres of linked pistes across the Three Valleys, making it one of the best ski areas in the world for all abilities.

It is this blend of comfort, location, views and personal care that makes Flocon de Neige a special place to stay and an ideal base for winter sports holidays year after year.
