About the host
Hosted by Rachel
I have been to Dale for holidays every year since I was born, in fact I was even christened there! I really enjoy being able to share its unique facilities and history with our guests and love that we have many annual visitors who feel equally passionate about the area returning year after year.
Why they chose this property
Coldstream Cottage has been our family holiday home since it was built in 1970. It is filled with information about the area and an ideal as a base for beach holidays, walking, birding and water-sports. The Cottage works well for all ages and has plenty of parking for cars and boats. The village has great facilities for learning watersports and renting boating equipment as well as a yacht club, pub and cafe.
What makes this property unique
THE PEMBROKESHIRE COASTAL PATH runs along the top of Dale beach and you can follow it in either direction to walk around the headlands.
DALE BEACH is easily accessible and a mixture of pebbles and sand. It is a Blue Flag beach and normally has life guards during the summer season. You can hire all kinds of water-sports equipment in Dale and get tuition at Celtic Watersports and Windswept Watersports. There is also a pontoon during the summer that children use for crabbing.
Between Easter and October the award winning Griffin Inn is open for delicious meals and there's The Boathouse cafe and the yacht club serving drinks and food.
WEST DALE BEACH and MARLOES SANDS are both nearby with surf and rock pooling.
THE ISLANDS SKOMER, SKOKHOLM AND GRASSHOLM are home to many species of birds and flowers. You can take the boat from Martin’s Haven and land on Skomer where there are fantastic puffins, guillemots and other sea birds. Or whizz out to Grassholm to see the gannets.
ST DAVID’S is the British Isles smallest city and has a wonderful cathedral and Bishop’s Palace as well as many other attractions for all age groups.
Other places worth visiting are; Pembroke Castle, Oakwood Theme Park with lots of scary rides, Freshwater and Picton Castle to name a few.
