The property was very clean and in good condition. The location was a plus being so close to the pub and the lodge. Lots of space and privacy for the different family members.
Our family stayed at this lovely home for 6 wonderful days. Having the two living rooms was perfect for us as we had a group of teens who had their own ideas of fun. The fireplace on the main floor was the best place to gather in front of for board games and watching basketball. The kitchen has everything you need and is well laid out. We were a large group (12 total) so we used the extra bed and one slept on the couch but we were all super comfortable. The house is about 15-20 mins from HooDoo- huge perk!! The garage was just a blessings as we were able to bring all our snowboarding and ski gear inside. The owner was very easy to communicate with and was very prompt to answer any questions we had regarding the home. I highly recommend staying here. We are already looking at dates in the summer to return for golf.
This house is very spacious and a great deal! It was hot during my stay, but very easy to keep the house cool by opening windows at night. The layout is great, and it was easy to feel relaxed and at home.
We loved the house which accommodated our 2 families perfectly. The house was very comfortable and our every need was met! We had a great stay and hope to visit again.
We had a great stay at this property! Great location between the lodge and glaze meadow. The house is perfect for one or two families with plenty of room to spread out.
The home and amenities are exactly as advertised and just what you need for a stay at Black Butte. The property is gorgeous, and the host was very attentive and responsive to our questions. Would completely recommend this home.
My daughter had her wedding atbthe lodge and itvis the perfect place for a wedding or family get together. The property was well kept and very nice. I am looking forward to coming again soon!
Everything was prefect. The checkin was quick, the location was prefect, the amenities at BBR are fantastic. One of our favorite places to vacation. Thank you for the wonderful home to stay in that made us feel comfortable and at home.

Great place for a group
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very roomy and wonderful for 3 couples. Could accommodate even more comfortably. Met our needs perfectly. Bev was great to work with. Would happily stay here again on our next visit to Black Butte.

Great Family Home
This was a great home for our family get together! It was clean and spacious. The owners were very helpful prior to our arrival. It was everything we expected from the photos! The grandchildren loved the loft!
Went for a Moms and teen boy weekend and had a great time. The place is a great layout for a couple of small families and had everything we needed. The only disappointment was the the ranch has pretty limited service before the end of June, so we couldn't do some of the activities that we'd hoped.

Nice house for our golf group.
Nice house. Well equipped and very clean. We were advised the week before to bring our own bath towels and there are no pool towels. We also were required to buy damage insurance. Every other rental I've had took a refundable deposit.

Fantastic Opportunity
Six family members spent Christmas week here in complete comfort. We slept two in the Master bedroom. One in each of the Queen rooms upstairs and two in the loft. The house is well appointed and is very cozy. There are two fireplaces and the owner leaves plenty of wood. At night when the loft sleepers go to bed, those staying up can retire to a second living room downstairs so as not to disturb them. The kitchen has everything you need. We cooked most of our meals during our stay. There are two refrigerators which is very helpful. The owners had the driveway plowed before we got there. It's in a very nice location. We had a wonderful vacation. Thank you!!

Nice
Checking in was difficult at the housing check in center. A very senior citizen did not know process with a line of people waiting. Then proceeded to add on serious unexpected charges to use complex facilities. Called owner but no answer.
Refused to pay add on charges and was finally admitted after frustrating people in line behind me. Once in all well. Banned from using pool or complex facilities.

Clean and accommodating but be sure to read the fine prints
We recently stayed at this property and it worked out great for our group! House was clean and easy to locate items needed for living. Kids enjoyed the small wooded area in back too! Upon arrival we were surprised to find there was a fee by Black Butte for each car to enter into the private property ($32 each car) which he hadn’t been made aware of by the private owners. Although the additional cost was a pain having access to the black butte amenities like the pool was definitely a highlight. The last small hiccup was the checkout policy. House cleaner doesn’t wash/dry towels so plan accordingly. With a large group this means you need several hours in the morning to get this done. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The biggest upset and the reason for not a perfect score was the extra fees at the gate.

The house was in a good location but...
We didn't love our experience at this house. There were so many things that were broken:
1. Toilet seat (all the females had to use the downstairs toilet which was pretty inconvenient. The owner didn't want BBR fixing it because it was "too expensive").
2. Master bedroom light bulbs were gone
3. Towel bar fell off the wall after putting a baby swimsuit on it.
4. Two burners on the stove were broken
5. The outdoor key holder was broken and wouldn't hold the key
6. Some pans were so scratched that you couldn't cook in them (rusty).
7. The upstairs refrigerator wouldn't get cold enough. The items up front were warm and the items in the back were frozen, plus it's the size of a large college dorm refrigerator. Luckily there was one in the garage that worked.
8. Toilet paper holder kept falling off.
Those were the broken items. But while we were there other things happened.
1. We arrived at 3pm, out checkin time, and had to wait outside because the house wasn't done being cleaned.
2. We were leaving one day to go the pool and an exterminator showed up. He said, "the owner called us about a mouse in the house. The owner called us three times about it." We didn't have a clue about a mouse or an exterminator so we asked him to leave.
2. There were items in the house marked "homeowners: don't use" which is a little weird. Most renters will have their personal items locked away elsewhere.
3. The owner also emailed us to tell us that the cleaning service was really expensive so we had to wash our towels and take all the garbage to the recycling center off site. Our friends in other houses didn't have to do this.
It was kind of an awful experience and we definitely won't be coming back to this house. We love BBR but will be renting elsewhere in the future.

About the host
Hosted by James Flood
My family has been vacationing at BBR since I was young. We have owned part of this home with other families for over 30- years.
Why they chose this property
BBR has so much to offer a family for vacation in both the summer and winter. If you like to be outdoors, doing things together as a family, this is the place.
What makes this property unique
Our home at BBR is very much a home. It is warm and inviting, casual, relaxing with very much a 'cabin in the woods feel to it'.
