We had a great stay, the house was lovely and very well equipped for adults and the children. The host was extremely nice and provided lots of information for us and even was kind enough to give our young children a gift each. The house was in a more built up area than we had understood from the listing but it was still very nice.

About the host
Hosted by Sheryl Reid
Sandringham House is a deeply personal project for me. I am very hands on and have carried out much of the renovation work myself, carefully restoring and refining the house to the standard you experience today. Creating beautiful spaces is something I genuinely love, and one of my particular passions is Venetian and tadelakt plastering, details of which can be found throughout the house, adding texture, warmth and individuality to the interiors.
I am naturally curious and enjoy reading and researching, especially the Victorian history of Sandringham House. Understanding its past has shaped the way I have preserved and enhanced it, respecting its heritage while ensuring it offers every modern comfort.
Hosting is something I truly enjoy. I take pride in preparing the house thoughtfully and in helping guests feel immediately at home, while still allowing them the privacy to enjoy their stay in their own way. Seeing guests relax and fall in love with both the house and the island is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
Why they chose this property
One of the reasons I chose this location is the ease and freedom it offers. From Sandringham House, everything is within walking distance, from the main shopping streets to some of Jersey’s best restaurants, cafés and welcoming pubs, allowing guests to enjoy the island without the need for taxis or planning ahead.
The seafront is only moments away and has become part of daily life here. A walk, or morning run, along the promenade towards St Aubin and back stretches for around six miles, offering beautiful coastal views and a wonderful way to experience the island at a relaxed pace. For those feeling more energetic, there is also a fitness trail along the route.
Cycling is equally special, particularly along the scenic coastal paths. One of my favourite rides is towards Corbière Lighthouse via the old railway walk beginning in St Aubin, a peaceful and picturesque route that perfectly captures Jersey’s charm.
What I love most is the balance this area offers, vibrant and lively during the day, yet calm and easy to return to in the evening, making it an ideal base from which to explore the island.
What makes this property unique
Sandringham House offers a rare combination of central convenience, generous space and highly personal hosting. Located in the heart of St Helier, just moments from the seafront, restaurants, shops and the Opera House, it allows guests to experience the island effortlessly, yet retreat into calm and privacy behind secure gated parking.
From the outside, the townhouse has a discreet presence. Step inside and the sense of space unfolds unexpectedly, with four beautifully appointed en suite bedrooms and expansive living areas designed for both connection and quiet downtime. It comfortably accommodates larger groups while still allowing each guest their own sanctuary.
The private rear courtyard provides a sheltered setting for relaxed al fresco dining and evenings around the fire pit, creating a peaceful oasis in the centre of town.
What truly sets Sandringham House apart is the attention to detail and level of care. The house closes annually for refurbishment and deep maintenance, ensuring every season begins fresh and immaculate. Guests frequently comment on the thoughtful touches and warm, personal welcome that make their stay feel both luxurious and genuinely special
