We were welcomed at the cottage by the owners and were shown around. We instantly felt comfortable. The owners are pet friendly and the location is secluded. We had a family of 5 there with a large dog and everyone had their own space. The garden was lovely (as was the hot tub)!

We had a fantastic week at this property celebrating 2 milestone birthdays which had all the amenities you need. Located in a quite but nice area with fantastic views and only a short drive to some superb beaches and Tenby. Owners couldn't be more friendly and helpful and would recommend this property to anyone looking to explore this part of the world.

We are a group of four friends with dogs and already know the area which we love. The Golden Plover house was perfectly placed to visit all our favourite places. The dogs were not only allowed but were made to feel very welcome with treats and even dog discs to wear with the correct address on! Thank you to Ant and Karen for the goodies on arrival and a lovely few days.
We had a great, relaxing stay here the last week in August. Spotlessly clean, really well equipped and lots of space for the young ones to explore. The BBQ shack was a great outdoor eating area. and the hot-tub was well-used for star-gazing at night and soothing the muscles after lots of walking :)Anthony and Karen are lovely hosts and provided everything we needed. Thanks again to both of them !Location-wise - for us it was perfect, 10 mins max to our favourite two beach areas Broadhaven South and Freshwater West; Stackpole Estate is also on your doorstep. 15-20 mins drive to nearest main supermarkets in Pembroke Dock was fine for us. Tenby area is also in easy reach, as is Saundersfoot, Wiseman's Bridge and Amroth.. we did all these! We really hope we can come again next year :)
We all had the most fabulous week away. The property was absolutely perfect and had so much space. Our hosts had thought of everything and had been so helpful and accommodating when we asked if we could bring our own extra safety equipment for our 2 year old grandson. There was a welcome pack waiting for us when we arrived which we were very grateful for. We were able to speak to Anthony & Ann , who are the loveliest couple. They gave us recommendations on best places to eat in the area and to visit with our 3 grandchildren and where was dog friendly. The property had everything we needed and more and the cleanliness was second to none. We cant wait to visit this wonderful property again soon and would highly recommend staying here to everyone .

We chose this property for 8 family members and 3 dogs to celebrate my sisters 60th birthday. We wanted to chill out together have a bit of alfesco dinning and drinks.Well what a find! The house was amazing, much more than we expected. Inside the house was exceptional, accessible, spotlessly clean and had everything you could.possibly need. The garden was.perfect, outdoor/indoor seating, a hot tub, secluded and safe for the dogs. The owners Anthony and Karen were perfect hosts, greeting us then leaving us to enjoy and being therr to say goodbye. We literally had the best family time ever in the most perfect surroundings.Thankyou Anthony and Karen xxx

Thank you so much for your review; it really means a lot to get great feedback. Thank you for looking after the property and leaving it really clean! We'd welcome you all back any time!
Brilliant stay!We travelled with another family for a group holiday 4 adults 4 children and 3 dogs. The house was fabulous and really suited to two families having separate “wings” of the property and the addition of a downstairs bathroom.Anthony and Karen are so welcoming and had provided a few really nice touches for our arrival, wine, bread butter, tea, coffee etc and blankets, bowls and treats for the dogs which was just lovely! The garden was perfect and although the weather wasn’t great we still made the most of it.The location of the cottage is not in walking distance to any amenities shops pubs restaurants which we knew and didn’t bother us but thought I’d mention for others in case that’s an issue. We would definitely recommend and return to the golden plover! Thank you

About the host
Hosted by Anthony Ball
Ant is local to the area but spent most of his adult life in Oxfordshire (where he met his wife Karen) & Wiltshire. After their children flew the nest they looked to move back to Pembrokeshire; finding and purchasing the Golden Plover in 2023. When we get spare time, we love to take long walks on the local beaches or in the countryside, spend time with family & friends and plan & carry out renovation work on the old property.
Why they chose this property
We are located in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park; the only coastal National Park in the UK. We are surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches and sheer limestone cliffs which make some stunning landscapes and give rise to loads of activities. The house is on top of the hill looking out to sea across open fields and we like nothing better than enjoying the views from the garden, either with just the two of us chilling, or when barbecuing and entertaining family or friends.
What makes this property unique
The property is located overlooking Castlemartin Military Range - a designated area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) - and for much of the year guests can watch the various manoeuvres and operations from the comfort of the bbq shack. Seeing the troops and their varied armaments is a must for anyone interested in the military. Note - there is NO Range activity during August (and often not in last couple of weeks of July) nor over the Christmas & New Year period.
