We have had an amazing stay at West Barn this past week. The house is beautiful and the garden was amazing for my boys to play in.
The neighbours were extremely welcoming and helped us with places to visit and places to eat out.
A washing line outside would be really helpful with having a young family.
Thank you so much and we are already looking forward to going again!
Spacious for a family with lots of natural light. The garden is brilliant with a variety of swings and seating areas. The weather stopped us making the most of it sadly. Freshwater East beach is a 850m walk and we had a lovely day out walking from the door to Barafundle beach (7km e/w). The only thing that would make the property better is somewhere under cover to store bikes.
Lovely barn conversion, Fantastic location, great facilities
We had a lovely stay at West Barn. It is a 15 minute walk to the beach at Freshwater East ... but a bit longer walking back up the hill from the beach.
The property has great facilities with dishwasher and washing machine and a big TV with comfy armchairs and sofas.
The bedrooms are comfortable and a good size.
Echoing another comment, a 7th chair for the kitchen table would be good if you have a party of seven.
Also, a washline for drying clothes after a trip to the beach would be a welcome addition.
We didn't have the weather for sitting outside and enjoying the evening in the "tower", but the garden was a great place to sit and relax in the sunshine.
Our stay was all too short and we would like to return one day.
There is plenty of room in this well laid out property. The garden was well used and it was an exciting space for the children to explore. Close to the beautiful beach at Freshwater East and walkable, even for a six year old.
All of the house facilities were good. Would recommend without hesitation.
We had a wonderful week at West Barn. The property is lovely and spacious, clean and airy. The kitchen is very well equipped and the beds were super comfy. It’s in the ideal location for exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline and countryside. Will definitely be returning.
The property was fantastic and there was plenty of room for 5 adults, 2 children and a small dog. The outside area was lovely. We walked down to Freshwater East beach from the property and lots of other beaches were within easy driving distance. Would definitely return again.
Property was clean and welcoming. Layout was perfect for us and our in-laws. With double bedroom on the ground floor and toilet next door. Upper floors held the bathroom and singles beds, then up again was the queen size bed and single bedroom.
Lovely large garden, which you can look out from most rooms.
Kitchen was well equipped and perfect for family meal times.
The neighbours were welcoming and friendly, very helpful.
Lovely quiet area of a few barns, cottages. Close to the freshwater beach east which is dog friendly and stunning. We also went to the Freshwater West beach to see Dobby’s gravesite.
Only stayed two nights, but will definitely look to book again next year. Thank you for a lovely little break away.
The pictures don't capture how spacious and airey this property is. It was very comfortable and well equipped for our family of 5 plus a dog. The garden was delightful with plenty of things to entertain children while parents watch from the picnic table. Ideal for accessing the Wales Coastal Path and the beach at Freshwater East. We would definitely look to book this property again
This outstanding property was spotlessly clean, large and very comfortable. The location is excellent for getting away from it all ( beware of very narrow access roads- larger 4x4 cars would struggle) The large garden is amazing and enough to keep younger children occupied for hours.
Wonderful and helpful neighbour, chatty ducks and friendly ponies, with a beautiful beach and dog friendly pub nearby. We will definitely be staying again - we almost didn’t leave!
Very peaceful location. The property was spacious and well kitted out. Very close to Freshwater East beach and there is a lovely pub in the village.
Only downside (or maybe not) no phone signal, but wifi good.
We had a great stay at the barn, a beautiful homely building in a stunning quiet setting. The space was comfortable and well proportioned with plenty of space and mod cons (minus towels!).
Be warned it’s pretty tricky to find and up some very narrow windy roads, the sat nav struggled and the lack of phone service made it extra tricky to track down but we made it eventually!
The location is a great base to explore the surrounding area via car. By foot it was about 15minutes walk to the pub and 20/25minutes walk to the beach.
Would definitely recommend especially to families!
The whole stay from start to finish was excellent the neighbour met us and gave us loads of useful information of the local area and the property itself. The property is beautiful and the gardens kept the kids and dogs entertained.
All was excellent and I can't fault a single thing.
Thanks for having us

nice quiet holiday
We had a very relaxing time away from traffic noise, but near enough to walk to the Freshwater East and a nice pub that served good food. The walk down to the excellent beach was well worth exhilarating climb back up. The only problem was that although the barn sleeps 7 people there are only 6 chairs to sit round the dining table so some body had to be anti social and eat in the living room or stand up and eat on the work top in the kitchen. But this didn't spoil the over all enjoyment of our stay

lovely place for families
well maintained house with large garden and plenty of fun things in the garden for the children to play on (supervised by parents} the accommodation was clean and well equipped with kitchen and house hold appliances. Televisions in every bed room always a plus. The dogs loved it lots of space for them although they were miniature dachunds. Very close to beach (fresh water east). Dog friendly. We all 3 generations had a lovely time.

Unexpected treat
We all loved this place! Kids (11 & 14) loved the garden! A great area for teenagers to explore - rope swings, football & volleyball/badminton. Grandparents very pleased with their ground floor double & parents happy with their practical hideaway. Everything you need for a home from home holiday let! Only thing I would change are the advertising images, which don’t do justice to the quality of the property, but do set you up for welcome surprise!

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this property as soon as we saw it and knew it was a perfect holiday getaway. We loved the secluded grounds and location so close to the beach, with Tenby and Pembroke a short drive away.
What makes this property unique
Lake hamlet is a great community and our neighbours will be pleased to welcome you. You will be free to roam the farmland in which West Barn sits, which leads all the way to the beach.
