About this property

The Cart House - Burnthouse

This delightful, former cart house sits in a beautiful rural location in the hamlet of Burnthouse, just 5 miles the port of Falmouth. At the old mill town of Ponsanooth, just under a mile away, you’ll find a grocery store and pub. The location is ideal for access to places such as Stithians Lake (5 miles) with its range of water sports; The Great Flat Lode (7.5 miles) and the Bissoe Trail (4.5 miles) – all ideal for walkers and cyclists – along with Kennall Vale Nature Reserve (1.5 miles), where you’ll find walking trails, waterfalls, babbling brooks and a flooded quarry amongst the ruins of a gunpowder factory. Falmouth (5 miles), known for its festivals and maritime scene, is a bustling hive of year-round activity with great restaurants and cafes to explore and four beaches to enjoy. Head to the north coast and in less than 12 miles reach Porthtowan, famous for its fantastic surfing.
Step inside this impressive two-storey barn conversion and be welcomed by a spacious open-plan living room finished in calming tones. The room features a vaulted high ceiling and original exposed beams, exuding rustic charm. The cottage is finished to an exceptionally high standard which is evident throughout. Bask in the natural light streaming through the feature windows, offering picturesque garden views and relax on plush sofas surrounding the cosy wood burner, perfect for moments of comfort. Explore the stylish kitchen, equipped with all essentials and finished with smooth marble worktops, inviting you to cook up delicious treats. Gather around the dining table for long sociable mealtimes whilst planning your holiday adventures. The ground floor also includes a convenient utility room, a shower room, and a snug room to escape to if you fancy some quiet time or a movie night. The main bedroom on the ground floor boasts a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and a separate bath allowing you to refresh in comfort. The deluxe super-king-size bed has a luxurious mattress to help you feel rested and ready to enjoy your days. A short flight of stairs from the snug leads to the second spacious bedroom, where a set of sumptuous twin beds await. These beds can also be offered as a super-king, creating more flexibility for families and couples. Both rooms feel secluded and tranquil, with lovely garden views.
Step outside and discover a private, paved terrace nestled within a charming garden surrounded by lush greenery. Equipped with a gas BBQ and outdoor furniture, this is the perfect spot for al fresco dining. Children and dogs can enjoy playing on the expansive lawn.
