The Old Barn is a beautifully converted space that has been lovingly restored by the owners, who have had the property in the family for more than 100 years. The ground floor is spacious and bright, offering a social space to cook, dine and relax, and the sliding doors open up the sitting room onto the unspoilt garden that changes with the seasons. Upstairs is a family bathroom and two large bedrooms with windows that look out to the garden and farm fields. The Old Barn is nestled within well established trees with an open garden space, providing endless adventures for children, a lovely spot to enjoy sundown drinks or exercise your dog. The surrounding fields are a haven for wildlife, and home to lambs in the Spring. An added bonus to the barn is private driveway parking for up to four cars. Or why not leave the car behind and arrive by train as the station is just minutes from the house, and there are easy train links to neighbouring towns and London St Pancras. The Old Barn really is a wonderful holiday home for families and friends looking for a peaceful break. Just a short walk into the historic town centre of Sandwich and the picturesque riverside, this ancient Cinque Ports town is wonderful to stroll around and enjoy the antique and boutique shops, restaurants and cafes, and many historic buildings. The Old Barn is also ideal for golfers with the three championship courses of Royal St. George's, Prince's and Royal Cinque Ports just a few minutes drive away, and also for nature lovers who can enjoy the lovely river side, with trips to see the seals. A visit to the Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory is a great family day out, and for the more adventurous, there is the Whitemills Wake & Aqua Park. The Old Barn is next door to Poplar Farm House, which sleeps eight guests and can be booked together if you require additional accommodation for family and friends.

Lovely Cottage, we were very lucky with the weather and were able to get out and explore the Kent countryside. The only things to point out where if you’re taller than 5ft 10 you need to be careful not to bang your head on the eaves and the name of the cottage is difficult to spot as it’s on an open gate.

Nice property in excellent location but beware ceiling heights upstairs and bathroom step!
Nice property in excellent location for exploring lovely Sandwich and surrounding area. A few maintenance issues were promptly dealt with by Keepers Cottages.
Sloping ceilings upstairs were a problem - we all banged our heads at some stage. The bathroom was an unexpected step of several inches down from the landing with no warning from outside!

Lovely clean accommodation in a great setting
The Old Barn provided a very clean, comfortable holiday for my wife and I and provided all the essentials such as dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, toilet rolls etc. The sitting room is very light due to the full length patio doors opening onto a patio and garden.
The kitchen provided everything required however there is only a freezer box in the fridge. Upstairs was nice and bright too, the double bed was very comfortable, probably the best we've ever had in holiday accommodation. Plenty of parking and completely enclosed garden. 10 minute walk to the charming town of Sandwich which has loads of pubs and cafes. Dover castle, Deal and Broadstairs were all delightful places to visit.
Thoroughly recommend The Old Barn

A lovely converted barn in a lovely area
Our first time in this area and we were very impressed Barn was lovely, outdoor space ideal for dogs and well fenced in.
Only a 10 minute walk into sandwich through a lovely park along the river lots of walks plenty of eating places dog friendly.
Sandwich is a town full of history so very interesting.
Be aware the road outside is very busy at times . there is a pavement but not very wide
A couple of suggestions for the barn A small cupboard for groceries . the only storage was the Fridge. The crockery was in a high up cupboard hard to reach unless on a chair.
A shoe rack in the hallway would be handy
Was a bit worried about the shower being over the bath but no problem

Comfy Cottage in Sandwich
The Old Barn is in a great location, only a 15 minute walk into Sandwich town, but has fields on two sides of the property so you feel like you are in the country. The property is very light and bright, particularly in the lounge with large patio doors letting the light through. We did have to tackle an ant invasion in the kitchen, when we first arrived, but eventually tackled that with a good spray of anti-bac inside and out (forgot to pack the ant spray, ha ha!). The property includes towels, tea towels, j-cloths, black sacks, hand soap, washing up liquid and sponge and dish washer tablets. There is a large kitchen with a dining table and a view through the window to the fields. We had good weather for the first few days so were able to make use of the table and chairs outside on the patio. The two bedrooms are very spacious, with plenty of storage in wardrobes and chest of drawers. There were some games and books to use and cookery books in the kitchen. There was mention of a black tray to put in paper and card for recycling, but we failed to find this, so just used the re-cycling wheelie bin. We really enjoyed our stay in The Old Barn and would definitely stay there again.
