Maple Barn is surrounded by woodland & open fields with extensive footpaths & byways. The Forge Cafe does excellent breakfasts and coffee. There are small Galleries & Shops with pop up exhibitions and a Fishing Lake (permit required)
Thornham’s diverse natural habitat is home to a rich variety of wildlife including Roe Deer, Red Kite, Hares & Woodpeckers. The village also boasts a thatched Norman Church, with a rare painted retable c.1330, a restaurant (The Auberge) and a beautiful cricket club hidden amongst woodland (with bar), with matches held on Saturday afternoons (May-August). A choice of pubs are also within easy reach in Mellis, Thornham Magna & Eye.

The bedroom is decorated in soft, neutral colours and has a king-size sleigh bed that promises a restful night’s sleep. Large windows offer stunning views and the room is thoughtfully furnished and tastefully decorated, providing a calm and inviting atmosphere. Adjacent to the bedroom, you will find a contemporary bathroom with a large walk-in shower with modern fixtures and fittings.
While the barn itself offers all the comforts you need, its location is equally special. Thornham Parva is a quintessential Suffolk village, renowned for its natural beauty, and is perfectly positioned for exploring the stunning countryside and local landmarks. The nearby town of Eye offers a range of shops, pubs, and eateries, Eye Castle is one of the few surviving motte-and-bailey castles from the early Norman period, while the historic cities of Norwich & Bury St. Edmunds are just a short drive away.
If you fancy a day at the coast pop along to Southwold with its famous pier, pastel-painted beach huts and an array of independent shops, or try a tasting tour at Adnams Brewery. Whether you’re interested in long countryside walks, cycling through scenic lanes, or simply relaxing, Maple Barn provides the ideal setting for a rejuvenating countryside escape.
