About this property
Oriuolo - Flo Apartments
Romantic Home Duomo is an elegant and charming apartment on the second floor of a historical building without elevator (15 steps) in the most authentic old Florence, in Via dell'Oriuolo, between the districts of San Giovanni and Santa Croce, 2 steps from the Duomo, visible from the windows of the living room, the Galleria Dell'Accademia (where Michelangelo's splendid David is kept), Piazza Signoria and Piazza SS.Annunziata.
This cosy, bright, intimate and charming apartment will be your ideal nest to discover and fully immerse yourself in the culture, history and art of this wonderful ancient city and to spend a holiday in the most authentic and ancient heart of our wonderful Florence, relaxing after a day spent among museums and visits.
Half of the apartment overlooks an internal courtyard, making it very quiet despite being in the liveliest part of town.
Recently renovated and furnished with taste, refinement and fine furniture, creating a perfect mix of antique and modern functionality, it can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people and is equipped with all the comforts that will make your vacation an experience to tell.
The careful renovation has enhanced the traditional details of the ancient building, creating an atmosphere typical of the ancient Florentine residences: the wooden beams of the ceiling, the imprunetino terracotta floor, the style and the warm colors of the furnishings give this apartment a romantic, warm and welcoming feel that will make you feel at home away from home.
The spaces are perfectly organized, and the two large windows in the living room, overlooking Via dell'Oriuolo, provide an exceptional view of the Duomo in all its beauty and majesty.
Entering through the apartment door, 8 steps lead into the bright living space, the hub of conviviality, furnished with a large fabric sofa, which converts into a comfortable double bed, armchair and TV, ideal for relaxing with a glass of good wine, upon returning from your tours.
From here you enter the dining area, furnished with large round stylish table, armchairs and chest of drawers in warm shades of pastel yellow, and carefully chosen and placed paintings.
An opening leads to the brick kitchen, which combines rustic charm with modern conveniences (microwave, dishwasher, kettle toaster etc.) and equipped with everything you need to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner whenever you wish.
The living room leads to the sleeping area, which is divided into 2 bedrooms: one with a double bed, furnished with a large painted wooden closet and a reading corner with 2 armchairs, coffee table and writing desk for those who need to work on their computers, and one with 2 very comfortable single beds.
Two bathrooms with shower, complete the apartment. Washing machine, air conditioning and wifi available to our guests.
Guests have access to the entire apartment as described.
Being located in the Restricted Traffic Zone, our guests arriving by car can only do so by going to park in an authorized garage.
The closest one is https://parkingduomo.it/, just 50 meters from the entrance of our building, where you can park and forget about your car, as all major sights in Florence are within a 5-minute walk.

The apartment is located in the heart of the city, just a stone's throw from Teatro della Pergola, Piazza del Duomo, Galleria dell'Accademia, Museo dell'opera del Duomo, Piazza SS.Annunziata, archaeological museum, Museo degli Innocenti, Basilica di San Lorenzo, Medici chapels, in a street, Via dell'Oriuolo rich in historical and artistic value with its stately palaces.
Via dell'Oriuolo straddles the neighborhoods of Santa Croce and San Giovanni, and is located between Piazza Gaetano Salvemini and Piazza del Duomo, and existed as early as the 14th century, so there are ancient buildings on it, of which the best known is probably the Oblate Library. But the most characteristic element of the street, if you walk along it from east to west, is the view of the dome of the Duomo, which appears more and more looming as you get closer.
The name “Oriuolo” derives from the contraction of “Orologio,” since the first wheel clock in Florence was built on this street, Intended for the Palazzo Vecchio.
Not far away are also the ancient neighborhoods of Sant'Ambrogio and San Lorenzo, with their namesake churches and their lively typical markets, where you can hoard local products to try or take home as souvenirs.
The neighborhood is full of restaurants/trattorias and clubs that enliven squares and streets with their outdoor tables, especially in summer, where you can enjoy the best dishes of Tuscan cuisine either for a casual lunch or a romantic dinner.
Within walking distance you will find: bank, pharmacy, bars, pastry shops, ice cream parlors, pizzerias, typical and ethnic restaurants, supermarkets, hairdresser, laundry, bus stop.
