Quiet location, 4 bedroom, 4 bath, barn, six miles Brecon. Dog friendly.
Brynderwen provides comfortable, well located accommodation for a peaceful stay in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The Park offers the best of the Great British Countryside. There are numerous hill walks and footpaths to be enjoyed and many good pubs and restaurants to relax in after a hard day on the hill.
Hay on Wye (the town of books) is a good wet weather option with many interesting shops and places to eat. Hay is on the Offa’s Dyke footpath and next to the Black Mountains. Market day is Thursday.
Brecon offers a range of facilities and has the regimental museum of The Royal Welsh Regiment. Market day is Tuesday and Friday.
If you wish to hire bikes or canoes or go pony trekking (short or long trek) this can be done at the nearby Llangors Lake.
Brynderwen has four double bedrooms, all en suite, and a well kitted out kitchen. There is a large communal and open plan dining and sitting area. Note Brynderwen does not yet have the facility to charge electric vehicles.
There is lovely small patio for sitting out, and we are just a one mile walk to the local pub (which also does amazing take away). Only six miles from the market town of Brecon, and only a couple of miles off A trunk roads we are super easy to get to.
Those guests arriving by bicycle may store bicycles in the locked shed overnight (at their own risk).
We welcome motorcyclists, horse friendly, families and well behaved dogs and children :)
Brynderwen is situated on the edge of the hamlet of Talyllyn near Brecon, and not far from Llangorse Lake, within the Brecon Beacons National Park.
We are especially well located for wedding guests attending celebrations at the following venues:
Peterstone Court Hotel Tall John’s House Treberfydd House (Llangasty) The Barn at Brynich The Whole House (Tre Walkin)
There are some excellent places to eat and drink in the local area and a variety of outdoor activities, walks, and places of interest. Annual events such as the Royal Welsh Show, Hay Literature Festival, and Brecon County Show are well worth a visit.
Brynderwen may not be suitable for those with mobility issues as there are steps leading into the property, and stairs within. Please call if you need any advice or assistance.
Please be aware we are in Talyllyn near Brecon. NOT Talyllyn in North Wales!!

We bought Brynderwen in July 2025 having moved to Brecon for the schools. We both work full time and love the social aspect of meeting new people and watching them relax as the surroundings give them a 'hug'!
Why they chose this property
The area is beautiful - there are stunning views, walks and rides. The roads are very quiet (and narrow!) but we are really close to Brecon, Abergavenny and Hay On Wye so there are amenities close by and lots to do.
What makes this property unique
The barn was converted twenty years ago from a granary barn. Wonky floors, exposed trusses and charming feel - big enough spaces for everyone to get together and socialise.
