Ruthin, only 12 miles away, sits on a hilltop and has a variety of attractive half-timbered buildings and interesting shops, as well as Ruthin Gaol, Ruthin Craft Centre and Nant Clwyd House with the oldest timber frame in Wales. Chester is within driving distance and boasts historic buildings, riverside walks, a racecourse and excellent shopping.
