About this property
The Stone Barn - Luxury Barn in Rural Wiltshire
Set in rural Wiltshire and bordering the Cotswolds, The Stone Barn is the perfect luxury base for visiting Stonehenge, Lacock, Castle Combe, Avebury, the Cotswolds, Salisbury Cathedral and Bath as well as the many other delights the area has to offer. Whether walking, cycling or sightseeing The Stone Barn is ideally located in the hamlet of Studley.
The space
The Stone Barn is part of a former smallholding with 17th Century origins which also comprises the farmhouse (where we live) and 'The Tiny Barn', also used as a holiday rental.
The Stone Barn was originally extended and converted in 2013 and has recently had a refresh for use as a luxury holiday rental.
The Stone Barn is cosy with an open plan living area and lots of lovely daylight. It has been finished and equipped to a high quality making this a comfortable and perfect location to enjoy what Wiltshire has to offer. A lovely 'home' to come back to after a busy day of walking, cycling or sightseeing.
The Stone Barn has oak flooring throughout bar the shower room which has slate tiles. The Stone Barn has underfloor heating throughout, sustainably supplied by an air source heat pump. There is also a whole-house ventilation system with heat recovery, adding to the low energy and sustainability credentials.
Exposed stone walls and roof timbers add to the character and highlight the heritage interest.
There is a large and well equipped open plan kitchen and dining area with a wood burner for added warmth, comfort and ambience.
The kitchen has a washing machine (detergent pods and fabric softener provided), dishwasher (tablets provided), fridge freezer, toaster, kettle, oven and hob. There is also a microwave and a Nespresso coffee machine (uses Nespresso's Vertuo pods).
The bright and airy living room (we call it the garden room) has two oak-framed glazed facades with distant views over the lovely countryside which regularly provides amazing sunsets.
The TV is a ‘smart’ TV and also has Sky Stream and Netflix. We provide a selection of board games and paperback books. There is also a Roberts Bluetooth speaker.
The ultra fast fibre WiFi is dedicated to The Stone Barn and has no data restriction.
There are two built in dual USB charging sockets for charging your mobiles and tablets. One is in the kitchen and the other is in the bedroom.
Complimentary tea hot chocolate and coffee pods are provided. Stays of 4 nights or more will have a complimentary welcome pack comprising local produce.
The bedroom has a king size traditional style metal-framed bed. The large wardrobe has an ample supply of hangers. A hairdryer is provided.
There is space for guests to bring their own travel cot for an infant of up to 12 months but please note that the property has NOT been “infant-proofed”. By prior arrangement we can provide a travel cot and a high chair.
The walk in shower cubicle has a rainstorm head and fluffy towels are provided as well as complimentary bathroom toiletries.
Parking for one car is located at the end of the barn.
The Stone Barn has a private garden bordering open farmland. The patio has a table and chairs for al fresco dining and also a relaxing area with sunbeds and armchairs. There is a fire pit for the chillier evenings. Guests can enjoy the surroundings, the wonderful view and the amazing sunsets.
There is an Outback gas fired bbq, available for spring and summer use.
Guest access
Guests have sole use of The Stone Barn and its garden area.
Dedicated private parking is available for one car (please note that we are unable to accommodate large vans, caravans or motor homes).
