About Justin Haines
This a family owned property with the family living next to the property. We are a married couple with a 9 year old son. We are both professionals and work during the week, whist our son goes to a local village school.
Why Justin Haines chose Chippenham
Built in 1900 as a stable block and tack room Dovenby Cottage has been used to house horses, donkeys, sheep, chickens, carts and even soldiers on leave from WWII. In spring 2013 we lovingly converted it to a cottage of the highest quality, whilst keeping many of its period features. We love this area of the South Cotswolds because whilst being a beautiful part of rural Wiltshire it has great accessibility to a wide range of amenities. We are surrounded by National Trust sites and properties such as Dyrham park, Laycock Abbey and Avebury, plus are very close to Bath and Bristol. One of our favourite things to do at the weekends is to walk to Castle Combe for lunch.
What makes this Cottage unique
Dovenby Cottage is a lovely place to snuggle up on a cold day. It has underfloor heating throughout, but if you prefer this can be switched off and you can light a log fire. On warmer days you have a garden and patio, with bbq to enjoy. The property is just a minutes walk to the village shop and 20 minutes from an award winning pub. It is a slightly longer walk to famous Castle Combe. Ideally located to venture in to Bath, yet escape the crowds for rural tranquillity at the end of the day.
