Beautiful stay in the highlands

Mallard is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. Extremely comfortable and well appointed. Outdoor space is lovely. Great for families of all ages. Would love to return.

A very comfortable place to stay in this beautiful area.

This holiday home was just perfect for us.It was very comfortable and extremely well equipped. The garden was enjoyed by our 2 year old grandson. The location is ideal . We had great weather which was a bonus. Would love to return.

Our stay at Mallard

Everything about our stay was top quality and comfort. The garden was an absolute delight helped by the fact that food for the birds was in plentiful supply. There were a good number of birds most of the time, 2 red squirrels, a bank vole and 2 visits that we know of from a pine martin. We hope to return one day.

Spring stay in Boat of Garten.

Absolutely loved the weeks break. Or 2 kids, 3 & 5 had a fantastic time. We all loved the house and gardens. Its location for going out walks and exploring was perfect. Definitely will be coming back. Thanks for having us :)

Boat of Garten Break

The cottage is presented in excellent condition with an abundance of kitchen appliances and equipment - if you have a dog they will love the large & safely enclosed back garden. You can spend days just walking the paths outside your door- Aviemore is a good short trip for all your holiday needs. Fill the bird & Squirrel feeders to enjoy the local wildlife- very relaxing & people friendly holiday destination.

Highly recommended

Excellent location, with a fantastic garden. We saw deer, red Squirrels and many small birds from the garden. The cottage is very comfortable and light, well equipped with particular attention to detail. Beautiful plates, mugs and bowls, a good variety of utensils.

A great stay at Mallard

Mallard was the perfect holiday home. It was comfortable, clean and had everything practical you could want. It was a little chilly later in the week and the heating system was excellent. Seeing red squirrels and a crested tit in the back garden was an absolute delight. Another plus was the location, we did three walks from the house, just perfect. The village had everything and the pub does good pub grub. We hope to revisit in the future . Thank you Mallard for a great week

Great cottage..great location

We had a lovely stay at Mallard, there is plenty to do in the area and the countryside is just awesome. The grandchildren loved the garden and exploring the woods. The wildlife in the garden was a delight, especially the woodpecker and pine martin. (Also saw a capercaillie on one of my cycle rides) We enjoyed to cycling and trips to Loc Garten for walks and to see the Osprey. Would definitely book again.

Boat of Garten is a lovely village surround by woodland which makes it ideal for a bit of wildlife spotting. Due to their rarirty, Capercaille are a protected species and have a bit of a reputation for "not being particularly friendly" - you are lucky to have had a sighting :)
