Great experience overall. Our host, Matteo, was great. Rooms are beautiful and very well maintained. The rooftop area was huge with almost 360 degree views of the city. In the evenings there are drinks available for purchase and snacks provided. The location was perfect for us and we were able to walk to all of the sites we were planning on visiting. There were a lot of shops and restaurants very close as well. I couldn't imagine having a better experience.
Despite the beautiful location and rooftop views, our overall experience was disappointing, and we would Not stay here again. The rooftop terrace overlooking the Vatican dome is breathtaking, the boutique hotel is charming, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location is excellent, with Rome’s major attractions, restaurants, cafés, and shops within walking distance.Unfortunately, we booked based on the owner’s written confirmation of seven rooms. Shortly before check-in, we were told only six rooms would be available, forcing four people to share one bed the first night. Although a roll away bed was made available the following night, 25% of our stay was spent dealing with a problem that should never have happened. After checking in at 2:00 p.m., no staff were available to help. Two rollaway beds sat just outside our rooms, but we were told they couldn’t be used because housekeeping had left. The greatest disappointment was the owner’s lack of hospitality. During a small rooftop gathering for our parents’ 70th & 90th birthdays, the owner abruptly started removed chairs from our quiet group. He spoke to us in a very dismissive and angry manner and told us that we had to move because of another group needed that space. We were agreeable to moving but simply expected the confirmed accommodations and respectful communication and problem-solving. It’s a Beautiful property, but because of the broken room arrangement and the way we were treated, we can not recommend.
