Lisa was so helpful keeping us informed during power outage caused by storm. Their house is beautiful, so clean and everything we wanted. Kids loved the basement “toys”!!
We spent a wonderful weekend at Bear Bottom! The property was spotless, spacious, and spectacular. All amenities were top notch and every nook was decorated for the season. The host checked in to make sure we arrived safely and communicated their expectations clearly. We hope to come back next year!
Mark and Lisa were lovely to work with and their home is GORGEOUS. If you are lucky enough to get here you will not be sorry. Our family had the best time. And Raystown lake is just minutes away.
The property is beautiful. The house is beautiful and was super clean. Never thought twice about putting my 8 month grandson on the floor to crawl around.
Everything we were looking for in a cabin! Highlights- the private pond just down the hill from the home was such a nice feature. Didn’t catch anything but our kids enjoyed trying. This cabin was so clean and beautiful. We had a slight issue with our key code getting into the place but a quick phone call with Lisa and Mark in that moment and we got it sorted out! Nice and private. There is one neighboring home just down the road (only ones) and they were very friendly and kind. All appliances were of great quality. Light switches and cabinets were all labeled which turned out to be super helpful. Clear instructions for how to use things like the fireplace and surround sound were much appreciated. Loved that the washer and dryer were on the main living level. More than enough dishes, mugs and spices. Nice selection of board games for adults and children. This cabin felt not too big and not too small. Nice and cozy. Hoping to come back yearly :)
Friends from college came in for the WVU/Penn State game as well as a weekend get together. Place was very nice, clean and had everything you could need for a long weekend. Would definitely stay here again.
This is my third time staying at this cabin with friends and it’s been great every time. Very clean, spacious, and easy to book! The location near Raystown lake is perfect for quick fishing access.
We always love coming back to stay at James Creek. It is convenient to raystown lake, the house is always spotless, and the hosts are the best! We will be coming back for many years to come.
Wonderful property, very well equipped and nicely appointed. Property owner was very quick to respond to questions and was a real pleasure to work with. Will stay again when traveling to this area and would highly recommend this property to others.
Cabin is stunningly beautiful. Lisa and Mark have paid attention to details as house instructions were clear, and in multiple locations. They have even gone so far as to label light switches! Could not recommend a better area VRBO and the host went above and beyond on answering some questions we had.
Bear Bottom Cabin is nestled near the base of a mountain that separates Blair and Huntingdon Counties. We chose this location to build our log home as a central point for friends and family to gather and to enjoy the surrounding wildlife. Upon purchasing the property in 2013, we came across a black bear den towards the bottom of the mountain and have occasionally seen the bear on the property; hence, why we named the cabin "Bear Bottom." In addition to the black bear, we've seen whitetail deer, turkeys, bobcats, squirrels, rabbits, and several bird species from the comfort of the porch/deck area or looking out the large windows.
Nearby Raystown Lake, Juniata River, and Trough Creek State Park all offer fun activities for outdoor adventures and activities, while not being too far from Huntingdon for groceries, shopping, and restaurants. Our family is happy to share our home so you and your family & friends can enjoy and make memories!
