About the host
Hosted by Don & Steve Kinser

I am a retired engineer and avid outdoor adventurer. I grew up in Northern Virginia and I've lived in the Atlanta area since 1977 when I was a freshman at Georgia Tech. I remained in Atlanta after graduating from Georgia Tech and married, started an engineering business, and raised 3 children (and now I am a grandparent). Today Nanci and I split time between our new home in Salida CO, our home on the Chattooga River in SC and the family farm in WV.
My passions include whitewater kayaking, fly fishing, hunting, skiing and just about anything out of doors.

Why they chose this property
My parents, Roland and Jean Kinser, lived and worked in the Washington DC area until 2005 (when they moved back to GA). Since I was a young boy my parents have had a "weekend" place in WV to escape the city.
Mom and Dad found The Lodge at Valley View in late 1994 after a mineral rights dispute on a property near Bayard WV motivated them to sell and look elsewhere.
It was love at first sight and they purchased the property in March 1995. The Kinser family has been making memories here ever since.
It has been a long standing tradition (since the early 1970's) that our family spends Thanksgivings togheter on our WV property(s) . We cherish these memories and look forward to that special time at Thanksgiving each year. We hope you create some memories of your own here at the Lodge at Valley View.
The name "Valley View" has a special meaning for us. "Valley View Stables" was the name of our Grandparents Tennessee Walking Horse farm in Warner Robins, GA. You will see when you arrive why "Valley View" is the perfect name for our piece of heaven in WV.

What makes this property unique
The Lodge at Valley View sits on 230 acres of beautiful WV hardwood forest at the base of the Allegheny Front. With a half mile long driveway and no road frontage, the Lodge at Valley View is extraordinarily secluded and private. The closest neighbor is a half mile away or more!
The views from the back deck are absolutely spectacular. You can hike, bike and explore without ever leaving the property or you can venture further and explore the many exciting things to do in the area.
