About this property
2 Bed in Crugybar (oc-waw324)
The central property in a group of three characterful holiday getaways enjoying an idyllic location on a rural smallholding, this beautifully updated barn conversion is ideal for discovering a breathtaking corner of the tranquil Carmarthenshire countryside. Providing stylish, light-filled accommodation for up to four guests, the bright and welcoming retreat dates back to the 17th century and has some lovely original features including exposed stone walls, timber beams, wall ties and vaulted ceilings, as well as a wood burner and underfloor heating. Surrounded by stunning rural scenery, this charming hideaway offers access to more than six acres of uncultivated meadows, making a great spot for peaceful walks and picnics by the River Annell. Stabling is available by arrangement.
The property offers a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner on the ground floor, with light streaming in from floor-to-ceiling windows. The lounge has a lovely wood burner, while the central dining table is perfect for sharing your favourite family meals which you can rustle up in the stylishly arranged kitchen to the rear. Upstairs, the first floor offers two cheerful bedrooms, each with wooden beams and flooring: the pretty twin room has a bath and shower, while the double room has partially screened en-suite shower facilities. Outside, a sweet patio area is partitioned off from the neighbouring properties, with a BBQ and plenty of garden furniture, making a peaceful spot to unwind on a summer’s day.
The bustling town of Llandeilo (11.5 miles) has some friendly restaurants and pubs, and lies on the edge of the stunning Dinefwr estate. To the south-east you can head into the magnificent Brecon Beacons National Park (12 miles), a fantastic location for mountain biking, hiking, climbing and horse riding. Other local landmarks include Aberglasney Gardens, Dolaucothi Gold Mines, and Llyn Brianne Dam and Reservoir, all within 15 miles.
