About this property
1 Bed in Wells-next-the-Sea (oc-1940)
Immerse yourselves in the beauty of the spectacular Holkham Estate when you stay at this gorgeous lodge within the attractive grounds. Sleeping two guests, the exquisite, one-bedroom cottage makes a magnificent couple’s retreat, especially for those wishing to bring a canine companion. Enjoy long walks through the parkland grounds and along the North Norfolk coast and spend time on renowned Holkham Beach, 3.5 miles away. The Victorian cottage comes with a wood burner to toast beside during the colder months and an enclosed, lawned garden for enjoying the fresh air and scenery.
Wander into the single-storey holiday home to discover accommodation that has been sympathetically restored and exquisitely finished for your comfort. The lounge/kitchen/diner is a welcoming space, with light catering facilities for those occasions you feel like staying in. Light the wood burner in here when it is chilly, then unwind in front of the TV or with a good book. At the end of each beautiful day, wander through to the king-size bedroom for a sumptuous night’s sleep. There is also a shower room for washing off the sand after days on the beach and warming up after your bracing winter walks. Have breakfast out in the sunny garden before heading off on the next day’s adventure. There is parking for one car.
Explore the 25,000-acres of splendid park and woodland on foot or by bike; cycles can be hired on the estate. Head 4 miles into Wells to wander the bustling streets of the coastal town, browsing in colourful shops and pausing for lunch or afternoon tea in one of its eateries. Watch the boats as they come into the harbour via the creeks and stroll 1 mile out to the beach. This is famous for its long line of colourful huts and its wide, sweeping sands.
