This is a perfect destination for bird lovers. With its wide-open skies, coastal marshes, reed beds and beaches it welcomes various migratory wildfowl. These can be seen from hides and walkways at Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s Cley and Salthouse Marshes, and RSPB Titchwell (26 miles). The Georgian town of Holt (4 miles) offers cafes, restaurants and independent shops. At Christmas time, the town is transformed into a winter wonderland with its fabulous lights and decorations. Book ahead for visits to the famous Thursford Christmas Spectacular (10 miles), and Sheringham Steam Railway’s stunning Christmas Norfolk Lights Express (4 miles). The 15th-century Baconsthorpe Castle is free to visit during daylight hours (1 mile). Visit the nearby traditional pub for good food and ales.

There is private parking for two cars at the lodge.

- Picnic bench and fire pit to the front of the lodge

- Private parking for 2 cars

- Shop 3 miles, pub 1 mile, beach 6 miles

- Please note that the lodge is on a 4-acre site, which guests are welcome to explore

- Dogs must be kept on leads around the grounds due to the local wildlife

- Please note that there is a private water supply that is fully compliant and tested – pure, clean water from a borehole
