About this property

2 Bed in Keswick (oc-h30968)

A superb position ensures incredible views from this spacious apartment, which is set on the first and second floors of a converted former farmhouse in a tranquil location. Perfect for couples or small families, it’s a brilliant base for exploring the large fells and beautiful lakes of the Northern Lake District. The property is just 1.5 miles, a pleasant walk along the Keswick to Threlkeld railway trail, from Keswick, a pretty town with a twice-weekly market and a choice of shops, pubs, and restaurants. From here you can take a scenic boat trip around Lake Derwentwater, or get adventurous with water sports, climbing, paragliding, ghyll scrambling, mountain biking and other adrenalin-filled activities. Walking is, of course, a main attraction, and from here you can stroll to Castlerigg Stone Circle, 0.5 miles, or head out to Skiddaw, Latrigg, Walla Crag, Castlehead, and Whinlatter Forest, all within 6 miles.

The slate and stone building, dating back to 1850, has been remodelled to contain 10 apartments and is accessed via an unmade driveway. Once you’ve parked, enter the building to find your front door. Inside is a welcoming hallway with a shoe rack and coat storage. Stairs lead to the first floor, which houses two bedrooms on this level – a king size bedroom with an en-suite shower room with WC, and a twin room with zip-and-link beds that converts to a super-king-size on request. The twin bedroom makes use of a well-appointed family bathroom with a bath, separate shower, and WC. From the spacious first-floor landing, stairs lead to the well equipped and comfortable kitchen on the next floor, which includes everything you’ll need to whip up tasty holiday meals, including an induction hob and a microwave. This space also boasts spectacular mountain views of Catbells. A further set of steps takes you up to the inviting lounge/diner, tucked under a sloping ceiling with dramatic beams – a light and welcoming space in which to sit back and relax after a day in the fresh air. Here you’ll find a dining table for six and comfortable seating arranged around a wood burner-effect electric fire and Smart TV.

If you feel like sipping your morning coffee in the sunshine or dining alfresco, you’re welcome to use the picnic tables in the spacious, shared grounds that surround this handsome property. There is private parking for up to 2 cars.
