About this property
Bell Cottage - Charlbury
You'll book Bell Cottage because of its perfect location, and stay year on year for its warm welcome and bubbly personality. Next door to The Bell with views down Church Street and up to The Bull, you couldn't be more in the heart of Charlbury. Leave the car behind and hop on a train for a break away from it all in this golden part of the Cotswolds.
Sitting over three floors, Bell Cottage is a whimsical choice for families or friends to explore from, though you might find you prefer staying in. You will lose time relaxing in the sitting room where the open fire crackles and you can read a book, watch TV or just gaze as Charlbury town life passes by the window. The kitchen has everything you'd expect of a traditional country cottage and you'll spot original features of an exposed stone fireplace and wooden beams. Exploring upstairs are three bedrooms, all at different corners of the house. Antique furniture and pops of colour from animal print chairs and throws make them a joy to discover. Up on the top floor the family bedroom has a double bed and a day bed which can be arranged as two single beds, perfect for anybody staying with younger children.
Step outside to your enclosed garden, a terrace with a dining area and charcoal BBQ. This hidden spot is a breath of fresh air and perfect for sunny days. You are just steps away from cafes and a deli so why not head out in the morning to pick up supplies for the day and a fresh coffee to get you going.
Ground Floor
Dining Room
Serving meals in the dining room you sit alongside the large inglenook fireplace. Now used as a log store it holds some of this home's history with its exposed stone and wooden beam. The table seats six giving you space to all eat together.
Sitting Room
Warm and welcoming, the sitting room invites you to sit down, take a break, and relax a while. Intricate wallpaper and the focal fireplace, velvet curtains and the brass bell collection are beautiful conversation starters. With cosy sofas and a collection of cushions and throws you are sure to be super comfortable and when the fire is lit, you'll never want to leave. There are two sofas, an armchair and a smart TV set in the corner.
Kitchen
A beautiful country cottage kitchen is tucked to the rear of Bell Cottage. Curtains cover the washing machine, exposed beams are above and you stand on a tiled floor. Cook meals with a garden view and enjoy your time in this lovely historic room, glass of wine in hand while dinner simmers.
Cloakroom
You'll find exposed Cotswold stone and funky wallpaper in the ground floor cloakroom where there is a WC and basin.
First Floor
Bedroom One
Unique pieces of antique furniture and a rather fetching leopard print chair steal the focus in bedroom one. There is a king-size bed where you can snuggle in for a great night's sleep.
Bedroom Two
Bedroom two has a double bed which is accessed from one side. You have storage space and a bedside table so you can have a cup of tea to hand as you enjoy a quiet lie in.
Shower Room
A magnificent rainfall shower and greyscale foliage wallpaper make you feel like you're really getting away from it. A refreshing shower after a long country walk is just what you need and this shower room is perfect. There is also a WC and basin.
Second Floor
Bedroom Three
At the top of the winding stairs is bedroom three. This room has a double bed and a day bed which can be arranged as two singles if required. This cosy hideaway is adorned in twinkling fairy lights strewn around wooden beams and there is a TV so younger guests can keep themselves entertained. There is a handy fixed stairgate across the top of the stairs.
Outside
