I landed in Paris and received a phone call that the apartment was no longer available. I contacted Vrbo, and they informed me that they had spoken with the apartment owner and that my reservation was not canceled. Believing everything was settled, I headed towards the apartment, only to receive a call from Belvilla saying it had, in fact, been canceled. Belvilla, I was told, was the management company for the apartment. I explained to them that Vrbo spoke to the owner and received contradicting information. Belvilla stated that the apartment was not available and that I should not continue to it. Belvilla offered no assistance in finding a place to stay nor a credible explanation on why the paid rental agreement was terminated. Verbo was responsive and tried to assist me in finding a similar place, but being last minute, we could not find a two-bedroom unit with the amenities we expected and packed for. After several hours wasted on my mobile phone sitting on a park bench, my family settled on a hotel that was adequate but not what we needed. The lack of understanding and assistance from Belvilla was unfathomable and unconscionable. Please do not book any rentals on Vrbo if Belvilla is the management company.
