Charming English Cottage in the Essex Countryside
Summary:
A 300-year-old listed cottage rich in history and character, beautifully complemented by modern comforts. This elegant four-bedroom retreat showcases original period features, an inviting open-plan kitchen and dining space, and a charming lounge perfect for relaxing after a day exploring. Nestled in the heart of the English countryside, the cottage offers a peaceful, scenic escape while remaining close to local amenities and excellent transport connections to Essex and London.
The Space:
A sweeping driveway provides an impressive and welcoming approach, framed by breath-taking countryside views. The drive leads to the main house (which is listed separately on Airbnb), and from there a pathway takes you across to the Old Cottage.
Step inside to an open-plan kitchen and dining area, flowing through to a cosy lounge full of charming period features. As a property of its time, the cottage has characterful quirks, including sloping floors, low ceilings, and low doorways.
The ground-floor bathroom includes a shower and a small bath. Head height is restricted in this space, so please keep this in mind when booking and take care during your stay.
A step staircase leads to the 1st floor, here you will find four bedrooms: two doubles, one twin room, and one single room. Please note that the single room is accessed through one of the double rooms and does not have a separating door, making it most suitable for a child.
Small patio area with seating to the rear.
