About this property
Beautiful historic home in downtown Albuquerque
Historic 1918 home in downtown Albuquerque, NM. Beautifully furnished with midcentury modern furniture, maple hardwood floors, large area rugs. The kitchen was remodeled with Ikea cabinets 6 years ago. Modern appliances with the exception of a beautiful and functional Chambers gas stove in the kitchen. Bright and sunny, large living room, sunroom with TV, dining room and master suite upstairs. The fireplace with marble hearth and the many windows give this home its charm. This beautiful house was our family home for 41 years. It was built in 1918 so it is over 100 years old. We have moved to a new home in the downtown neighborhood now that our children are grown. Downtown Albuquerque is home to many fun activities. If you like to walk short to medium distances you will have pedestrian access to our burgeoning craft brewing industry with taprooms and restaurants, art galleries, concert venues, Old Town, ABQ Convention Center, the Zoo, Botanical Gardens and aquarium. There are museums and bike trails all within walking distance. The University of New Mexico and several hospitals are close by: a 10 minute drive. Guest access This house is completely furnished as you can see from the photos. There is a flat screen TV and washer and dryer. There is a full complement of china and flatware, serving and baking dishes, glasses, pots, pans and cooking utensils. There is a microwave, toaster oven, drip coffee maker, Cuisinart and Ninja blender. The bed linens and towels are very luxurious and comfortable. Both bathrooms now contain a shower. There is a bathtub in the downstairs bathroom. There are a barbecue, deck, and tables and chairs in the back yard. Guest interaction You can choose to have contact with us or not. We will meet you when we give you the key and hope you will let us give you a quick tour of the home but will be totally sensitive to your preferences of contact. Neighborhood overview This is a very wooded, beautiful old neighborhood. Residents and their families walk to and from the local Mary Fox park where they picnic and enjoy the play equipment. There is also a grocery store 4 blocks from the house. Getting around Bus transportation is convenient to this home. There is also a Railrunner train station downtown which can take you to Santa Fe. The airport is a 10-15 minute drive with rental car from airport or Uber availability.

This house was very clean, spacious and had a very well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the laundry facilities were good. There was nothing we needed to add besides our own food!! We would definitely stay there again and will refer it to others.
This house was perfect for a twelve day stay for myself, my husband and our college-age son. The house was spacious, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. It was well-located with an easy walk to cafes, parks, and restaurants. We really enjoyed meeting and talking to our hosts. It really felt like a "home away from home" during our stay. Looking forward to staying again on a future trip.
We were in town so I could run the Duke CityMarathon. The location was perfect. It was so comfortable and walking distance to the start/finish line. I would definitely recommend this house to someone visiting the Albuquerque area. It’s in a very quiet neighborhood and close to downtown.
Loved the kitchen! Owners thought of everything especially when cooking meals at home. We loved the stove too. The kitchen was well equipped and modern. Overall, this older home was beautiful and location was perfect. Close to everything. Owners were friendly and made sure we were okay.

Thanks so much Curt for your review. We really appreciated what good care you took of our property. You left it so nice and clean and thanks for helping us get the laundry started. You will be welcome back any time you return to Albuquerque!
We enjoyed a two-month stay in early spring. Hosts very friendly, responsive, helpful. Lovely, comfortable master bedroom suite upstairs. Furnishings are strikingly modernist. Lots of sunlight. Close to neighborhood grocery, park, museums, zoo, Old Town, and many fine restaurants. Downtown nearby: library, convention center, churches, more dining. A fine ABQ home away from home!
Laura and Jon were attentive, warm, kind and generous hosts.
Their home provided all the necessary amenities and more.
The location was perfect for our needs and offered easy accessibility to museums, galleries and dining. Boundless thanks for a wonderful stay Laura and Jon!!!
Staying here was truly a comfortable and relaxing vacation. This property is beautifully designed and outfitted with high quality dishes, cookware, linens, furniture, etc. We have recommended this property to several friends.
We enjoyed our stay. Laura an her husband were very sweet an the house is equipped with everything .

Lovely house in charming downtown neighborhood.
A very spacious house for a family with the most comfortable beds ever. Clean with everything you need at hand to enjoy a relaxing vacation. Owner lives nearby, but we had no problem at any time. It was easy to get to the downtown attractions as well as the freeway. A great value for the price.

Great modern place with plenty of room!
We had such a great time staying in this house! There is a lot of room downstairs with plenty of seating areas. They have a great media room if you want to sit down and watch a movie or a game. Plenty of room for dinner in the spacious dining room. I also love the modern decorations inside. If you need a breath of fresh air, make sure to check out the huge backyard! I will be staying here again when I return. Laura the owner of the property was great! This place is very close to downtown and has a grocery store that is walking distance.

Danny was such a great guest. He was communicative, positive and a pleasure to host. We hope he will stay with us again. We always want our guests to love the house and property as we did when we lived there for 42 years. When he returns he will find a new stereo system with bluetooth capability which I know will be enjoyed by him and all our future guests. We try to keep improving this property so that it will have all the amenities that I always look for when I stay at VRBO properties. Thanks again to Danny for being such a responsive, sincere and positive guest.

Wonderful home full of charm and great spaces!
We rented this house for a small college reunion. All of us were registered to participate in the Albuquerque Run for the Zoo. We had 5 adults and 3 kids stay here and many friends drop in to visit. The house had plenty of space inside and out. Laura was kind enough to let us have a dog in the back yard too! The kids and adults played ball and hockey sac in the nice enclosed yard. There was a large dinging table for us to use as well. The kids could go sleep upstairs on the floor well before the adults went to bed. The living areas were perfect. Those who wanted tv had it and the rest could sit around the living room chatting. The house was close enough to walk to the zoo and we were able to skip the crowds who were attempting to park the day of the race. It couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you so much Laura for a wonderful vacation memory and helping old friends get together.

Thanks so much, Julie. We couldn't have asked for a nicer group. Communication was great the entire time and thanks for leaving the space so neat and tidy. Thanks for getting the laundry started and for dealing with the garbage and recycling so well. We really appreciate the care you took of our property and love that you enjoyed it. We hope we'll see you back again.
About the host
Hosted by Laura Daby
Jon and I have lived in the downtown Albuquerque area for the past 40 years. We chose to live in this neighborhood because of how green and beautiful it is. Jon grew up in Illinois and the huge trees reminded him of home. I was a high school history teacher for 38 years but recently retired. Jon is an architect with his own firm. We are avid Master's Team swimmers at the University of New Mexico. We belong to several gyms for different focuses and we walk all around our neighborhood to buy groceries, eat out, go to the movies and go to cultural events.
