About this property
"Legasea," Old Florida Beachfront Charm with Two Screen Porches, Sleeps 7
From the moment you walk into Legasea at St. Teresa, you’ll feel the weight of the world lifted off your shoulders. Located far from crowds and commercialization between the small fishing towns of Carrabelle and Panacea, this is a haven to truly get away from it all. Whether upstairs or downstairs, you'll sigh when you open the wide French doors to truly awe-inspiring views. The entire house is decorated with a soothing color palette and charming eclectic style.
This beachfront duplex home is right on the Gulf of Mexico, although on Google Maps it appears farther back away from the water.
It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and sleeps 7. You can choose to dine at the spacious kitchen counter, at the table by the windows opening to the breeze, or climb the stairs to the upper screen porch to enjoy the spectacular views with your dinner.
You can watch the sun rise from the king sized bed in the master bedroom, which connects to the screen porch and to the master bathroom.
The second upstairs bedroom contains a queen bed and a set of twin bunkbeds. The third bedroom, which contains a queen size bed, is downstairs next to the second bathroom. Beautifully decorated in ocean colors, both bedrooms enjoy gorgeous natural light.
Surrounded by beauty such as this, you’ll want to spend time just sitting and staring and taking it all in. Or lie in the hammock and gaze up at the tall pines as the gentle lap of the waves lulls you into a much-needed nap. Go a few more steps to your own beach deck with chairs and umbrella. Collect shells and explore living sea animals as you stroll the beach from Grassy Point to Stingray Point. Go fishing or cast a net off the dock or scoop up some blue crabs. Use the two kayaks provided to explore the area by water.
If you find you can’t entirely tear yourself away from the TV, the family room provides a Smart TV and DVD player with a variety of family movies. There is an additional TV and DVD player upstairs in the master bedroom. Internet is provided, although it may be slow on the Florida Panhandle.
St. Teresa is right on the Gulf of Mexico, but is protected by a sandspit which extends from Alligator Point, so the waves are always gentle. This makes it perfect for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and beachcombing. On a natural beach on the “Forgotten Coast” of the Gulf of Mexico far from crowds and commercialization, the area around St. Teresa provides one of the most diverse eco-systems in North America. You may see dolphins, manatees, the exotic local white squirrels, and even the occasional Florida black bear, not to mention every kind of shore bird you can imagine.
Legasea is located within the Bay North gated community of St. Teresa, which contains its own swimming pool, tennis courts, and plenty of open space in which the kids can play if they tire of the beach. The children’s laughter as they play outside all day will take you back to when this was “Camp Weed,” a summer church camp.
When you visit Legasea, you’ll know that you’re in a truly unique place, and will understand why St. Teresa has been the most beloved spot in the world for generations of families.

About the host
Hosted by Caroline Francis

I was fortunate enough to spend the best parts of every summer at St. Teresa with my Tallahassee grandparents who built a little cottage here in the 1920's. No matter how the world was changing, the beauty and serenity of St. Teresa remained a constant in the lives of me and my family.
Why they chose this property
Sharing the old St. Teresa cottage with aunts and uncles and cousins was a lot of fun, but when we had a chance to buy our own place, we jumped on it! I always envied my Tallahassee cousins who were able to come visit St. Teresa more often throughout the year, and now count myself truly blessed to be able to spend more time here.
It's been one of the greatest blessings of my life to watch yet another generation grow to love the beauty and simplicity of times gone by in this special place.

What makes this property unique
St. Teresa gives us a chance to really get away from it all. Being a beach and nature lover, I can stay outside all day and not even think about turning on the TV! Plenty of friends, however, prefer to bask by the pool, so the Bay North amenities offer a nice balance. When we first looked at the house from the back, we were not that impressed, but when we walked around to the front, it took our breath away. Having already been in love with St. Teresa, we loved the way this house is tucked back among the pines. We did a total renovation to transform this into our home, enlarging and modernizing spaces, changed the deck downstairs into a screen porch, and added an additional screen porch upstairs. Our favorite thing to do is to sit in the rocking chairs upstairs and look out at the changing of the tides.
It's our hope that our "Legasea" to you will be the peace and contentment a stay at St. Teresa can bring.
