Scotland is one of the finest salmon fishing destinations in Europe, and the River Dee is a lure for fly fishing enthusiasts from all over the world. This majestic, fast flowing stretch of water set amongst the beauty of the Deeside Valley, sweeps along the northern edge of Ballogie Estate and fishing may be available by arrangement with the owners. The ski slopes at the Lecht and Cairngorms can be easily reached and also offer plenty of good hillwalking. Locally, the towns of Ballater, Aboyne and Banchory have plenty of artisan shops and good eating places.
