Unique Countryside Villa From The 17th Century, Close To Stockholm

Villa Drottningholm is a beautiful old house from the 17th century, stunningly located close to a horsefarm and the forest right outside with a perfect recreation area. The house is fully modern, carefully restored in a light, country, scandinavian style. It has itÂŽs nice private ground, a newly renovated guesthouse with 2 single beds and a terrace. The property offers complete privacy. The bottomfloor consists of a livingroom with a fireplace, a large kitchen with complete equipment and a fireplace, and a laundryroom. The second floor has a TV-room, three bedrooms one with a kingsize bed, the others with a singlebed in each. A balcony with view over the horse meadow. There is also a nice bathroom with a bathtub. Outside in the garden there is a sauna which you heat with firewood. There is a smaller house fulltime rented on the property. They have their own garden and are very quiet, you will hardly take any notice of them.
Communications: Lovö church is 10 min. walk from Villa Drottningholm, from where the buses take you to Brommaplan (Metrostation) Driving a car will take 20 min,unless you choose the busy early morning traffic, between 7-8 am. A more beautiful way to go to the city is taking the classical steamboat leaving from the royal castle of Drottningholm. Takes 45 min. The castle where the royal family lives, is a must to visit itself. The fantastic garden is a popular target for picnics during the summer. Lovö/Drottningholm is an island sorounded by lake MÀlaren. You can rent a boat, but itŽs best to be arranged in advance.
Weather: Sweden has far lot better weather than itÂŽs rumor. May, June, July and August hare the most stabil months to enjoy the country. The evenings are light, the sun rices extremely early and sets very late. Temp, around 20-25 C. Atumn is during sep-nov with clear skyes and beatiful colours. Dec-feb we will hopefully have snow, since we love celebrating a white Christmas. It is very cosy, especially in our oldfashioned house. We go countryskiing a lot, just outside the door. When spring comes we sit outside as much as we can, enjoying the light and the sun, the barbeque-season starts and is one of the most popular way of socializing in Sweden.

Wonderful stay

Our time on Lovo (Drottningholm) was magical. The island is a national park, and we loved walking out our door and onto the island's many trails. And yet, we could also easily drive to sites around Stockholm and Lake Malaren. The house is so lovely. Everything is comfortable and cozy. The kitchen is very well-equipped--we made all of our meals there. There are flowers everywhere--inside and out. And it was SO quiet! The only sounds we heard were birds chirping and the clip-clop of the occasional horse being ridden down the lane. Lastly, the hosts were so lovely and hospitable. We will always remember our time here with fondness and wistfulness.

We would highly recommend this villa to everybody! The villa is really beautiful and decorated with warm taste. The area is also very beautiful and quiet. The owners, Britt and Mats, are very hospitable and very kind. They really helped us out whilst having a problem with renting a car, due to missing creditcard. A Scandinavian dream come true

Everything that has been written about this property sounds like a fairy tale ... well ... itŽs all absolutely true! The location is simply perfect if you wish to enjoy relaxing nature and have the beautiful city of Stockholm nearby. We came by car and obviously itŽs handy to have a car for shopping for groceries but itŽs not strictly necessary for visiting Stockholm. You can either go by bus to Brommaplan and then continue by underground to Stockholm city (40 minutes or go to Ekero and go by "pendelbÀt"-ferry (55 minutes) The villa is absolutely gorgeous and has been renovated by Britt and Mats to a perfect and comfortable modern standard while at the same time keeping the 17th century atmosphere intact, thus creating a very homely feeling. The large and bright kitchen contains everything you might need when cooking own meals on holiday. There is also a utility room with a washing machine, a dryer, an ironing board, ... everything you might wish for has been provided. Very relaxed check in and check out: on our first day we were heartily welcomed by Britt and Mats and on our last day they came to see us off and to wave goodbye. The house has plenty of spaces where you can sit together or alone, both inside (thereŽs a wonderful balcony!) and outside. Speaking of outside: Lovö has a large deer population. When cycling around you will often encounter deer. One day I went out to hang up some kitchen towels outside, there even was a deer in the garden! 300% recommendation!

Fantastisch

Wir haben 12 Tage im Haus verbracht und Weihnachten sowie Neujahr mit unseren beiden Töchtern und den Partnern gefeiert. Das Haus ist gross und charmant eingerichtet, wir haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Die Umgebung ist lĂ€ndlich und ruhig. Mit dem Auto fuhren wir jeweils zur Metro Station Stora Mossen und eine geringe GebĂŒhr fĂŒr das Parken bezahlt. Ins Zentrum der Stadt ist man von dort aus schnell und unkompliziert. Stockholm hat sehr viel zu bieten, wir sind begeistert von der Stadt. In der NĂ€he des Hauses ist das Königsschloss Drottningholm und die Umgebung lĂ€dt zu SpaziergĂ€ngen ein. Die Kommunikation mit Britt war einwandfrei und sehr freundlich. Wir wĂŒrden wieder kommen.

Entspannte Tage zwischen Stadt und Natur

Wir haben uns in dem großzĂŒgigen und gepflegten Haus mit Blick fĂŒr das Detail sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Stockholm haben wir mit dem Bus oder mit dem Schiff besucht. Zu den Haltestellen in der NĂ€he sind wir wenige Minuten mit dem Auto gefahren. Die Bushaltestelle ist aber auch zu Fuß erreichbar. Abends haben wir einen erholsamen Spaziergang direkt vom Haus aus unternommen. Britt und Mats haben uns sehr herzlich empfangen. Wir können die Unterkunft wĂ€rmstens empfehlen.

Ein wunderbarer Urlaub auf herrlichem Anwesen!

Nach der herzlichen BegrĂŒĂŸung und kurzen Einweisung der Vermieter, konnte wir dieses große Haus mit allen NebengebĂ€uden ĂŒbernehmen und genießen. In dem herrlichen, großen Garten gibt es ein SpielehĂ€uschen fĂŒr kleine Kinder, ein gemĂŒtliches GĂ€stehaus mit 2 weiteren Betten bei Bedarf (wurde von uns nicht genutzt) und eine urgemĂŒtliche Sauna (Holz wurde ausreichend bereitgestellt), die wir 3 Mal in der Zeit benutzt und sehr genossen haben. Das Haus selbst ist sehr groß mit einer großen, sehr gut ausgestatteten KĂŒche. Generell kann ich sagen, wir waren sehr begeistert, und dazu beeindruckt, denn es gab NICHTS zu BemĂ€ngeln und NICHTS, woran nicht gedacht wurde, fĂŒr jeden eventuellen Wunsch gab es Vorbereitungen. Dazu alles sehr sauber und ein gepflegtes GrundstĂŒck. Die Umgebung im Wald ist wunderschön, gegenĂŒber des Hauses gibt es einen HĂŒgel, dort haben und die ersten 10 Tage die Schafe erfreut, bevor sie auf eine andere Weide sind. In unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft, aber nahezu unbemerkt steht das Haus des Sohnes, aber wie gesagt, kaum wahrnehmbar. Eine Ecke weiter befindet sich ein Reiterhof, tĂ€glich spazieren die Halter mit ihren Pferden am Haus entlang (also immer mal 1-2,nichts Störendes, sondern einfach nett anzusehen). Man ist sehr schnell am Schloss Drottningholm, auch in der Stadt ist man sehr schnell und gĂŒnstig mit der U-Bahn, wenn man ein kleines StĂŒck mit dem Auto fĂ€hrt oder den Bus nimmt, der etwa 900m vom Haus entfernt fĂ€hrt. Man kann alle Punkte gut erreichen.

Einfach toll!

Wir haben eine wunderbare Woche in der Villa verbracht. Es hat uns dort sooooo gut gefallen, was daran lag: -die extrem herzliche BegrĂŒĂŸung durch die Vermieter -die Lage des Hauses inmitten der Natur am Wald mit Fußweg zum MĂ€laren -tolle ÖPNV-Anbindung nach Stockholm, binnen weniger Minuten ist man an der U-bahn-Station "Brommaplan" -die Ausstattung des Hauses (es ist ALLES da, was man sich fĂŒr ein Ferienhaus nur vorstellen kann) -die AtmosphĂ€re des Hauses (sooo gemĂŒtlich, man fĂŒhlt sich sofort zu Hause) -die vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten draußen, so dass man wahlweise entweder Sonne abbekommt oder ein schattiges PlĂ€tzchen findet -die GrĂ¶ĂŸe des GrundstĂŒcks, ein Traum fĂŒr Kinder -.... Wer Stockholm erkunden, aber auch gerne etwas Abstand vom Großstadt-Trubel inmitten der Natur haben möchte (so wie wir) ist hier genau richtig aufgehoben. Danke Britt und Mats!

Sehr gemĂŒtlich

Wir reisten dieses Jahr zum ersten Mal mit unseren drei inzwischen erwachsenen Kindern nach Schweden. Unter anderem verbrachten wir eine Woche in der Villa Drottningholm. Ja, was sollen wir sagen? Alles aus den anderen Bewertungen stimmt. Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefĂŒhlt und waren total begeistert, besser geht es einfach nicht. Schade, dass Schweden fĂŒr uns so weit weg liegt, sonst wĂŒrden wir jedes Jahr kommen. Auf jeden Fall sehr zu empfehlen.

Tolles Haus vor den Toren von Stockholm

Das Haus liegt nur 2km von den königlichen GĂ€rten entfernt, ist hervorragend ausgestattet und bietet so viele attraktive Sitzgruppen innerhalb und auf dem AußengelĂ€nde, dass man sie in einer Woche kaum alle ausprobieren kann. Lovö ist sehr lĂ€ndlich, aber in Bromma und Ekerö erreicht man in 10 Min. Autofahrt gute Einkaufsgelegenheiten. Geheimtipp: Mit der commuter ferry als Teil des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs von Ekerö aus in einer einstĂŒndigen Kreuzfahrt durch die SchĂ€ren bis zum Stockholmer Hauptbahnhof - entspannter und gĂŒnstiger kommt man nicht ins Zentrum! Vielen Dank an Britt und Mats fĂŒr den herzlichen Empfang mit frischem Obst und Blumen!

Der Aufenthalt hier lĂ€sst sich trefflich in einem Wort zusammenfassen: traumhaft. Das gemĂŒtliche Ferienhaus verbindet ganz wunderbar schwedische Leichtigkeit mit zeitloser Eleganz und modernen Stilelementen. Die Liebe zum Detail zeigt sich in allen RĂ€umen und die Einladung uns "wie zu Hause zu fĂŒhlen" haben wir gern angenommen. Britt und Mats waren sehr aufmerksame Gastgeber und hatten auf jede Frage schnell eine Antwort. Zudem wurden wir mit einem Obstkorb ĂŒberrascht, eine schöne Geste. Der große Garten bietet verschiedene Sitzecken und auch auf dem Balkon kann man gut entspannen. Kurzum: ein wirklich perfektes Ferienhaus, zumal die ruhige Lage und die NĂ€he zu Stockholm eine unschlagbar gĂŒnstige Kombination ist. Unser Fazit - gern wieder.

Wunderschöne Landvilla bei Drottningholm

Wir sind als Familie gereist und haben das Ferienhaus sehr genossen. Perfektes Urlaubsdomizil

Britt und Mats stellen ihren GĂ€sten eine zauberhafte Unterkunft zur VerfĂŒgung, die mit Geschmack und höchstem QualitĂ€tsbewusstsein von ihnen eingerichtet wurde. Wir haben wirklich alles perfekt vorgefunden: das Haus und das NebengebĂ€ude sind lichtdurchflutet hell und absolut komfortabel, die KĂŒche ist - wie auch die weiteren RĂ€ume - funktional und trotzdem hyggelig im besten Sinne: hier stimmt jedes Detail! In der RealitĂ€t ist alles noch schöner als im Inserat; unsere Vorstellungen wurden tatsĂ€chlich ĂŒbertroffen. Die Lage des Hauses ist perfekt, da es sich zwar in ruhigster Natur - einem sehr schönen Naturschutzgebiet - befindet, man von Brommaplan aus aber nach 15 Minuten Fahrt mit der Bahn das Centrum Stockholms erreicht. AusflĂŒge nach Vaxholm und die SchĂ€ren ist ohne Probleme umsetzbar. Die Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrmittel klappt ab Lovö Kyrka reibungslos. Direkt vom Haus aus sind landschaftlich eindrucksvolle Wanderungen möglich und der MĂ€larensee gut zu erreichen. Der Aufenthalt in der Villa Drottningholm war fĂŒr uns als Familie pure Entspannung und VergnĂŒgen. Wir bedanken uns bei den liebenswerten und fĂŒrsorglichen Gastgebern Britt und Mats fĂŒr die wunderschöne Zeit und freuen uns auf den nĂ€chsten Schwedenurlaub in der Villa Drottningholm.

Sehr gastfreundliche Vermieter. Hat unseren Erwartungen, aufgrund der Beschreibung absolut entsprochen. Man fĂŒhlt sich wohl vom ersten Augenblick an. Lage sehr naturnah, idyllisch und ruhig. Schwedischer Flair mit moderner Ausstattung. Zu sehen sind Rehe und Pferde ums Haus. Naturreservat, Wandermöglichkeiten vorhanden ebenso wie Sightseeingtouren in Stockholm möglich. Excellente Landvilla

Die Landvilla liegt in einem sehr lĂ€ndlichen und ruhigen Naturreservat, jedoch nur 13 km von Stockholm entfernt. Der MĂ€larensee ist mit dem Fahrrad in 5 Minuten zu erreichen, es lĂ€ĂŸt sich herrlich darin schwimmen.Wir haben hier einen wunderschönen Urlaub verbracht, das Haus ist sehr liebevoll und hochwertig im Schwedenstil eingerichtet. Ein dickes Dankeschön an Britt und Mats das wir hier die Tage wie in BullerbĂŒ verbringen durften! Wir kommen im nĂ€chsten Sommer wieder!

Ein ganz wunderbares Haus mit Garten, ruhig gelegen. Mit Möglichkeiten zum Wandern, Baden, Golf spielen. Schloß Drottningholm kann per Spaziergang erreicht werden. Sehr nette Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern.

We are a couple with two grown-up children, we run our own business and love to travel, enjoy the nature of our country are interested especially in boats and lake/sea activities. Our main concern is the family and our cat 'Morrgan Stanley'.

Why they chose this property

We couldnÂŽt beleive our eyes when seeing this ad, the old tired beautiful house at Drottningholm. There are no houses for sale in this area, very raredom. This one must have been a kind of a workes house close to the farm, and it had nothing of modernity we were used to. We spent the winter in the north of Sweden at the time, and my husband Mats took the train to Stockholm, 15 hours, to participate in the auction. We lost, another couple made a higher bid, you can tell we where very disappointed. However a week later the realty agent called, the winner didÂŽnt get the loan he needed. Our bid was now accepted. I hadnÂŽt even seen the place but I new my husband, and couldÂŽnt wait until we got the keys. After loads of work, restoring the house over and over, we still love it and people often wonder how we made it, how did we manage buying it? The house is comfortable, cosy and very welcoming. It is clean and very well cared for./Britt

The unique benefit of this property is the close distance to the city of Stockholm, and still this is a country area. Our neighboors are farmers. Less than 30 minutues we will reach Stockholm, less than 15 min. walk we will find a private place to swim from, or pick mushrooms or blueberrys. And you can walk to the golfcourse.
