Methven is a sizeable village sitting in the Scottish region of Perth and Kinross. With history dating back to 1306 when The Battle of Methven took place during the Scottish Wars of Independence, it makes a historic delight of a base from which to explore rural Scotland, with its rolling farmlands providing a plethora of scenic walking routes at any time of the year. Be sure to explore the nearby castle standing east of the village, built by the Duke of Lennox, it being one of the last traditional tower house style castles to be built in Scotland.
