The Neighborhood:
Situated in truly beautiful countryside, the picturesque Wensleydale village of Bainbridge is just two miles from Askrigg - known to millions as ‘Darrowby' in James Herriot's "All Creatures Great and Small". Bainbridge is also just four miles from the market town of Hawes, home of the famous Wensleydale cheese, and boasts an extensive village green which comes with its own set of stocks. This excellent holiday location is ideal for walkers, and offers a great base from which to explore the popular areas of Wensleydale and Swaledale, taking in the Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater, and castles at both Bolton and Middleham.
