About this property

Elegant 18th Century Country House with Cader Idris views | Cefn-Y-Maes

Arriving onto the formal drive of Cefn-y-Maes, a 18th century house with Cader Idris views, you'll know you made the right decision about your choice of accommodation. The grand circular driveway leads to the front of a spectacular property, packed full of character and charm. A traditional building across two floors on split levels and painted a bright white, the property features four large bedrooms, sleeping eight in total. With a number of reception rooms, it's the ideal property for a large group or family who want to socialise as well as split off into smaller groups. Please be aware that there is no-smoking allowed inside the property.

The front door of the charming property opens into a hallway leading into all three reception rooms. To the left, a small number of steps lead down into the main reception room - a stunning lounge with separate dining area to the rear. The beautifully furnished lounge area has windows to two aspects, allowing light to flood in. A mix of lightly coloured fabric sofa's and leather armchairs create a comfortable socialising space, centred around an inviting log burner built into an exposed stone wall. The walls are decorated in a beautiful pale green, and ornate wall light fittings provide atmospheric lighting. To the rear of the space, a dining area seating four sits alongside a desk area for guests that may need to do a little work during their stay. To the opposite side of the hallway, a second lounge area with TV is classically decorated, focused around an ornate period fireplace. Pale blue walls, antique furniture and range of seating including sofas and armchairs create a comfortable and bright room, that works well as a breakout from the main lounge area.

The third door from the hallway leads into the property's formal dining room. A large farmhouse dining table sits to the centre of the room, seating eight, ideal for evenings where the whole group can get together catching up on the days adventures. A second doorway from the dining room leads past a cloakroom into the stunning and well equipped kitchen of Cefn-y-Maes. A modern kitchen with limestone effect tiled floor, there are units to three sides finished in white gloss with a stone coloured worktop, grey walls and splashback. A large range cooker takes centre stage, alongside a built in eye level microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. A central island counter and breakfast bar features additional storage and prep space, along with two high stools, making this the perfect and sociable cooking space. The opposite end of the kitchen includes a four seater dining table, perfect for relaxed breakfasts.

Heading up the stairs of this 18th century house with Cader Idris views, there are four generously sized double rooms along with three bathrooms. The master bedroom with en-suite is a stunning room with a large ornate wooden super-king framed bed sitting alongside two bedside tables with lamps. An antique chest of drawers is located opposite the bed, along with an LED TV and free standing full height mirror. The en-suite to the master bedroom beautifully combines rustic with modern in its décor. Distressed wood effect flooring gives way to white modern bathroom units including a WC, basin, bathtub and separate shower cubicle with rainforest head. Bathroom tiles in shades of grey blue add a touch of colour to this stylish space.

Across the landing is a large room with a superking zip and link bed which can be divided into two single beds if required, bedside cabinets, an antique chest of drawers and an ornate freestanding mirror. Decorated in neutral colours, with a stunning swallow print headboard and cosy throw over herringbone pattered blanket. With the addition of a clothes rail, side chairs and corner table, it's a comfortable and cosy room. A beautiful shower room sits next to this bedroom, including a large shower cubicle with rain forest head, WC and basin in a Victorian style. Patterned tiles on the floor add colour to this bright bathroom, and the original sash window provides fabulous views out across the surrounding landscape.

The third bedroom of the house, includes a kingsize bed with bedside tables and lamps along with an armchair tucked in the corner next to a desk unit. The room is decorated in pale shades of green which contrasts well with the pink shades of the soft furnishings. The fourth and final bedroom is a lovely bright space with windows to two aspects, and wonderful views. A beautiful bed sits between two bedside tables, opposite a large antique wardrobe unit and dressing table. Two cosy armchairs and coffee table feature in the corner next to one of the windows, providing an additional spot in this wonderful property to grab some privacy. Completing the upstairs layout, the house's third bathroom is fitted out in a traditional style. Dark Wooden floorboards sit under the Victorian style bathroom units including a basin, WC and roll top bath with shower over.

We’re happy to welcome 3 well-behaved dogs! Please keep them supervised at all times and don’t leave them unattended. To keep the space comfy for everyone, we kindly ask that they stay off the furniture and out of the bedrooms.
Feel free to bring their favourite bed, blanket, and anything else to make them feel at home.
