The Space:

Exposed concrete, the soul of a vineyard

Alvarinho Villa is a brand-new contemporary estate, built in 2025, with an architectural language that demands attention: exposed concrete ceilings throughout, continuous microcement floors, black window frames and unfiltered natural light at every turn. Five double suites, each with queen beds and a private en-suite bathroom finished in terracotta mosaic tiles, a wall-hung bidet and a rain showerhead framing the view over the vines. The living room pairs two ivory linen sofas with a ten-seat dining table, lit by a vintage pendant hanging from black track rails. The kitchen is a statement in itself: floor-to-ceiling matte black cabinetry, oxidised terracotta countertop and backsplash, integrated top appliances and an interior window opening onto the private courtyard trees. Outside, the 14-metre granite overflow pool, heated and with underwater lighting, centres a terrace with raw concrete furniture and a professional gas BBQ.



Important note: The swimming pool is out of service from November to April. Pool heating is available for €70/day, with a minimum of 5 days. Please notify us at least 4 days in advance to ensure it is ready for you.



Guest Access:

Guests of Alvarinho Villa have exclusive access to the entire estate. This includes five private suites, each with a queen bed and en-suite bathroom. Enjoy the open-plan living and dining area, the fully equipped kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, and the outdoor terrace with a heated 14-meter overflow pool, a professional gas BBQ, and comfortable raw concrete furniture. Private parking for three cars is available, and the property is secured by an automatic gate.



The Neighborhood:

Amarante: river, wine and centuries of history



Figueiró, the village where the villa sits, is ten minutes from Amarante, one of northern Portugal's most photographed towns. The river Tâmega passes under the ancient São Gonçalo bridge, the monastery of the same name holds centuries of devotion and the riverside terraces fill at dusk with the region's famous pastries and a glass of vinho verde. The surrounding hills are delimited territory for Alvarinho, the white wine that defines the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, and estate wineries dot the slopes in every direction. The Serra do Marão, with mountain trails and viewpoints over the Douro valley, is under twenty kilometres away, and the wine road from Amarante to Guimarães passes through landscapes that rarely make it onto maps.



Getting Around:

At the crossroads of everything worth seeing



Amarante is ten minutes by car. Porto is sixty kilometres away via the A4 motorway, under an hour's drive. Guimarães, the medieval birthplace of Portugal, lies forty kilometres to the north. Porto Airport is approximately sixty-five kilometres away. The villa offers three private parking spaces and an automatic gate with a lockbox for independent arrivals.
