Step outside and within Brantwood’s sprawling grounds you’ll find a cafe, extensive gardens, woodland trails and lake access to the shores of Coniston Water.
From the shore you can hop on a cruise around the lake or visit Coniston village. Adventure seekers can launch paddle-boards or canoes or take a dip in the calm waters for a wild-swim.
And after Brantwood House closes to the public at 4pm, guests have the spectacular gardens and grounds to themselves - a truly special privilege and one which will ensure your stay at The Coachman’s Quarters provides memories to treasure forever.
Inside Inside the Coachman's Quarters you'll everything you need for a perfect lake District stay. While compact, the vaulted ceiling provides an airy sense of space, while your eyes will be forever drawn to the spectacular view which awaits you beyond the apartment's large windows.
In one corner of this charming space sits a modern kitchen, fully equipped with induction hob, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge and ample storage space. Around the corner of the 'L' shaped apartment is a cosy sitting area with decorative, traditional range stove, comfy seating and simply incredible lake and mountain views. The room is completed with a king-size bed, next to a window with those jaw-dropping views.
Outside The Coachman's Quarters is accessed via stone steps at the rear of The Terrace Cafe within the grounds of Brantwood. As a guest at The Coachman's Quarters you are free to explore the grounds and gardens of this historic house at your leisure. Across the lane is Brantwood's lake access to Coniston Water, where you can enjoy lakeside picnics or a spot of wild swimming, hop on your paddle-board if you have one, or catch a cruise across the lake to Coniston village.
Travelling with a dog? Dogs on leads are welcome within Brantwood's grounds and gardens. In addition, we can offer free use of one of our dog fields Coniston village for off-lead exercising. Use by arrangement only. Please contact the office for availability.
