Lovely well equipped, clean cottage on the Ring of Kerry. Owner and property manager very responsive. Would definitely book again. Our family had a great time at the cottage and it was a great base for our holiday weekend!
Garden cottage was a great base for exploring south Kerry. Lots to do in the area and the house had everything we needed. Our host Katherine provided some very tasty food on arrival which was a great service to provide to guests. Really relaxed holiday , of course helped by the weather and the Kerry hospitality

We had a fantastic 5 day stay in the Garden Cottage and didn’t want to leave. The cottage was spacious with every amenity you could imagine. The property owner, Susannah, was very communicative and easy to deal with. The property manager, Katherine, was a jewel! We definitely recommend having her prepare some of her delicious dishes during your stay. We can’t wait to come back again soon!
It was a very good decision to stay one week of our holidays in the beautiful Garden Cottage in
West Cove Farm House.
It's such a nice place with so friendly hosts.
And we enjoy all of it and missed nothing in this nice place. Especially the quietness and the amazing view on the bay, the sheep's and some hare was so relaxed. The lovely landscape, the Irish
People and the music of Kerry was so lovely and unforgettable.
Thank you Katherine for the very good food and we think we come back one times.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back another time !
The house and view are lovely. The location is peaceful. The house manager is delightful, shared some great tips for our explorations, and prepared some delicious food for us, which was a great convenience. This made for a perfect base from which to explore the Kerry Coast, Skellig Ring and Killarney National Park. We really could have used more than three nights here. There’s so much to see. The only negative, which is subjective, is the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. I would recommend this stay.
Amazing location and lovely surroundings. But the house is quite dated although comfortable. There was no bbq/grill, no coffee/tea maker (only kettle), no spices (only S&P), no beach towels, limited toilet paper, terrestrial tv only.Overall having read the reviews we were disappointed in the lack lustre contents and cleanliness of the house.
There were a couple of issues which were quickly addressed by the housekeeper. Explained that usual cleaner had been away and some things had been overlooked.
The Garden Cottage is just beautiful! The view is stunning, the location great as well, the interior very cozy, and with it's fireplace and it's history, it has that special charme, that most other holiday cottages don't have. After a day out, it's simply the perfect place to come HOME to. And yes, it soon feels like home... So much like home, that you actually want to stay! The contact to owner and manager was perfect as well, very helpful and friendly. We can only recommend this place, and we would love to come back! Thanks a million! : )
From the moment we arrived we were saying, we’ll be back, which speaks for itself. Location of VF Garden Cottage is fabulous. Everything you needed is in the house, cooking utensils, washer, dryer, house was exceptionally clean & the log fire was very welcome on a rainy day.
We met the lovely Susannah during our stay & Katherine was on hand to answer any queries we had. The games room was a big hit with the kids. We wished we booked for longer & next time we will.
Dear Susannah,
thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful "Garden Cottage". It was a wonderful holiday, also because of the cozy holiday home with the great view of the trees and the bay. We felt very comfortable.
Katherine is the good soul of the house and does everything for the guests. It was so nice to talk to her.
We would love to come back.
Many greetings from Germany.
PS We wish you all the best, Susannah.
Lovely spot: sweet little secluded cottage on a large and lovely shared property. Very quiet. Dogs loved it. Cattle grid meant they didn't try to leave the main property, but they had the run of it. Close to the water, though the view is rather hidden by trees, but trees are hardly a crisis! Only one thing: you will need a car to get around, even to the pub (drinking alcohol-free Guinness, obvs).
Our stay at The Garden Cottage was delightful. Very clean and updated, yet still keeping with the charm of a beautiful 300 yr old cottage. The grounds and location were breathtaking. Enjoying our morning breakfast on the patio overlooking the bay and sheep and goats and horse was picturesque. Katherine, the caretaker was very helpful and we really enjoyed her vegetable quiche she prepared for us! As well as The bakery/cafe on the estate was excellent!! We enjoyed a brisk hike up the mountain across the way. The panoramic views were stunning! We will definitely stay here again, next year! 5 star rating from The Frye Family!

We enjoyed a wonderful family reunion at the Garden Cottage. On arrival the house was warm and cosy ..all important in Kerry where its coastal and all weather every day ...first impressions are huge ! Food we had pre ordered from Catherine was lovely and welcome after the long drive. Any minor needs were quickly sorted with a text to Catherine. We loved the views, walks to Kerry Way ( easy access across the Ring of Kerry road its very busy be careful !!! ...access to the pier all moments away ...my brother had Pier Cottage for a week while we were there and it was delightful to share meals and swims with him and his family with such ease. We look forward to more lovely times at Westcove.

Perfect Soho Location
Perfect location for a London visit. Flat was clean and well equipped, but a few wear and tear items could use some fixing up (loose laminate flooring, kitchen faucet corroded, minor cosmetic stuff). Picking the key up at a convenience store was strange to us, but maybe that is the way it's done over there.
Beautiful view from the porch overlooking the bay, great family meals there. wonderfully restored house with character, granddaughter loved the play area and baby goats and sheep , great kitchen, cozy living room, excellent management. Loved Katherine’s lasagne and chicken and leek pie. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The house was lovely! The nearby beaches were breathtaking. House met all of our needs. The sound of waves hitting the rocks in the distance was soothing. We traveled from Colorado to pick up our daughter who was attending U.C.C. in Cork. This was a nice place to spend with her and my son.
We loved this property. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. We are literally around 2 min walk from the Ring of Kerry, and 10 min drive from the most wonderful beach.
We did wish there was a gate from the drive into the yard, so that our little dog couldn’t wander out, but otherwise the cottage was nearly perfect.

Thanks so much for your mainly positive review....and for your comment about a possible gate to prevent dogs 'escaping'...we will certainly look into whether there would b a practical way to do this, when we are next over there in September...but could be quite tricky?! Come again soon!
Susannah
Lovely property and great location. Lots of things to do and see, with Derrynane House, beach and nature trail only a few minutes away, just to name a few. We’ll definitely be back.
Communication with the owner was very easy and courteous however the vrbo system was not easy because online payments of over 500 euro could not be accepted from European ( Irish) credit cards because vrbo havnt yet subscribed to the latest European security systems.

About the host
Hosted by Susannah Adlington
My name is Susannah Adlington and I am a portrait artist living in Hampshire, England with my husband Michael. My father’s family have had Irish connections for several hundred years, and my parents bought Westcove House in the early 60s … since then four generations of our family have been enjoying holidays here – we just love the place and feel sure that you would too. Indeed many of our guests return to Westcove time and time again – something which we view as the highest form of praise!
Why they chose this property
This building is a traditional 18th century stone cottage, originally built for farm workers working on the Westcove Estate. After years of being used as a workshop we recently converted Garden Cottage to a high standard. It now consists of a high spacious living room with kitchen, dining area, a wood burning stove and large patio doors opening south to a stone terrace and magnificent views over the Kenmare Estuary. There are 3 bedrooms - a twin and a single with a shared shower room downstairs and a twin with its own shower room upstairs.
What makes this property unique
Although in the grounds of Westcove House, the cottage is totally secluded and makes an idyllic retreat - especially during quieter months. In summer, open the doors onto the south facing terrace overlooking the sea and enjoy a meal cooked on the built-in barbecue. During winter you can enjoy the warm glow of the wood-burning stove whilst looking through the large patio doors at the grazing Soay sheep and the ever-changing light glistening over the sea and the mountains of Beara beyond.
