About this property

The View, Luxury Retreat, Outstanding views over the countryside & Hebden Bridge

Let yourself sit back, relax and enjoy the view from the balcony of this beautiful 1 bedroomed 1st Floor Cottage.

'The View', is a first floor Yorkshire stone cottage with a large private balcony providing an elevated viewing platform to really take in the spectacular views. Based at the very top of the Pennines in West Yorkshire at approx. 1500ft above sea level there's no better place to sit back, relax and take in the vista of Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge and Stoodley Pike. The cottage is sited within 14 acres of private land completely detached from any other buildings. Surrounded by fields you'll regularly see all sorts of wild life including Deer, Pheasant, Rabbits, Hawks, Owls as well as our Horses & ponies Tommy, Clooney, Joey, and Bob.

The interior of this cottage has been very carefully designed in collaboration with our dear friends at the Vintage Sofa Company to create a very special space that reflects the industrial period when textile mills ruled the valleys of the area. A very exciting project we are extremely proud of that really feels special, a place to kick back, relax and enjoy the finer things in life.

The open living area includes the lounge with log burning stove, dining and kitchen areas with a large fully glazed gable window to make the most of the outstanding views. The cottage can sleep 3 people with a good size double bedroom with direct access to a shower room and a single pull out bed in the lounge.

In the Kitchen we've gone to great lengths to ensure you have the best of everything whilst staying in 'The View', The Kettle, Toaster, Fridge, Dishwasher are all SMEG. For cooking there is a two ring induction hob and a combination Microwave/oven/grill along with a toasty maker.
The pans, plates, side plates, bowls and mugs are all Le Creuset.
The cut glass includes Champaign, Gin, Wine and tumblers.
We include all the cutlery, food prep knives, scissors, bottle openers.

We provide some tea, coffee and sugar to get you started along with the finest eco friendly soap and cleaning products, toilet and kitchen roll.
The bedding and towels are all provided and washed in Persil Non Bio and fabric softener.
If you'd like us to arrange groceries in advance we can also provide this for you.

To the side of the cottages there's a shared utility/drying room equipped with a boot washing sink, washer/dryer, boot rack and plenty of hooks for hanging outdoor gear to dry.

There's also plenty of private parking, if you need any help with directions please ask.

If you have any special requirements let us know and we will do everything possible to accommodate you.

About the host

Hello, we're Mandy & James, we live on a beautiful farm high on the hills of West Yorkshire. Our land is dedicated to our horses who you'll see happily grazing in the fields or working out in the arena. We are very very proud of our holiday cottages and running them is possibly one of the best jobs in the world, reading our wonderful customer reviews and their letters of thanks is without doubt the highlight.

Why they chose this property

The Views!! We're based at the top of the Pennines so our elevated position gives us far reaching stunning panoramic views which leave you spellbound whatever the weather.

What makes this property unique

This first floor Yorkshire stone property enjoys a vantage point from its glazed balcony that delivers stunning views that are possibly some of the very best in the pennines so it was important that the cottage was equally stunning on the inside. We collaborated with our dear friends at the Vintage Sofa Company to create a very special interior design that reflects the industrial period when textile mills ruled the valleys of the area. A very exciting project we are extremely proud of.
