About this property
Stancombe Farmhouse, an idyllic Cotswold retreat set in its own private valley
Stancombe Farmhouse is located within Stancombe Park, a family run private estate of 300 acres in one of the most beautiful part of the Cotswolds. Rolling hills, parkland, unchanged in over 200 years guests will appreciate the unbridled beauty of Stancombe set in its own valley. With an old deer-park and ancient oak trees the estate is known for its beauty and late-Georgian surroundings.
Stancombe Farmhouse is built out of honey coloured Cotswold stone and sits at the foot of the valley, surrounded by an abundance of wildlife and quiet.
Its position on this Georgian estate and private surroundings, coupled with serene landscape and setting really sets it apart from other stand alone holiday lets. With an on-site team we organise chefs and drivers if needed and always on standby to help and recommend.
This period house has 6 bedrooms and 6 ensuite bathrooms sleeping 12, all newly refurbished and has high speed fibre internet. It is the perfect base to gather as friends and family or explore the nearby towns of Bath, Cheltenham and Cirencester.
The house boasts period features such as beamed rooms, woodburners and fireplaces yet is full of modern comfort. Newly renovated, the house host's family antiques and art, high end bathrooms, a huge dining room seating 20 and handmade kitchen. Outside is a hot-tub, a large eating area and table tennis table, all with the backdrop of the beautiful Cotswold estate.
3 of the six bedrooms have super twin beds and the 3 others have super-king beds that can be made into twins if needed. Excellent for travelling friends or multi-generational families. All of the bedrooms are huge meaning no compromise is made.
Guests have acres of woodland walks and by appointment access to Stancombe Park's Grade 1 garden. There are wonderful walks nearby, with far reaching views from Stinchcombe Hill and Tyndale's monument, and the famous Cotswold Way meanders through the parkland for more active guests.
Stancombe's on-site family team is always on to help. We routinely organise chefs for special occasions or guests just keen to maximise time with their family and friends. We organise transport and pick-ups from all major airports and train stations and have a full diary of tried and tested places to eat, activities for all ages and local recommendations.
The only other neighbours are the estate's other holiday lets meaning we can cater for groups of up to 26 in 3 period cottages. Multi-generational families or large groups of friends enjoy this set up allowing guests to come together in the day and retire at night to their own spaces.
Stancombe is a truly beautiful spot, described by some national newspapers as the most romantic in Britain and its completely private setting is perfect for relaxing in comfort and at the same time within striking distance of all of the major Cotswold hotspots.
