This traditional family home with parking and an enclosed sunny garden is in the ideal spot for exploring the beautiful Suffolk Coast and Heath area, with picturesque Orford less than five miles away. Interiors are spacious and full of character with ample room to socialise on the ground floor, and three bedrooms – two king and a twin on the first floor.
GROUND FLOOR You’ll enter the house through the back door as it’s more convenient for the parking space. There’s an open plan layout with the hall taking you to a door to the garden with a step down to the kitchen or one up to the dining room which leads through to the front hall where you’ll find the front door, a door to the living room and conservatory beyond, and the staircase to the first floor.
KITCHEN Units wrap around this light room, with built in appliances including a Bosch waist height double oven with a grill function in both sections, a large fridge/freezer (three shelves and two veg drawers in the fridge, three drawers in the freezer), a built in microwave, a dishwasher, a Lavazza coffee machine with milk frother, a kettle and toaster.
DINING ROOM Step up into this central room with its circular table and chairs so you can dine at home, as well as a bureau if you need to do any work/studying. A door to the front hall with the front door to the road, and stairs rise to the first floor.
LIVING ROOM Ideal for family gatherings at any time of the year. This massive split level room has a sofa and chairs positioned so you can enjoy the warmth from the gas fire and a movie on the TV in the corner, with a step down to the lower level with more seating and doors to the conservatory.
CONSERVATORY Make the most of the beautiful garden surrounding this fully glazed room with a table and chairs, and an electric heater to take the chill off in the winter months.
CLOAK/UTILITY ROOM By the back door and fitted with a basin, WC, washing machine and dryer.
FIRST FLOOR Relatively steep stairs rise to the first floor landing where the double bedrooms are either side and there are steps down to the bathroom and twin bedroom.
BEDROOM ONE The king size bed sits between little bedside drawer units and there’s additional storge in a chest of drawers, a wardrobe, and bookcase in the corner with baskets for smaller items.
BEDROOM Also at the front of the house, this pretty blue room has a king size bed with bedside drawers, a dressing table and chair, plus ample storage in a double wardrobe.
TWIN BEDROOM Sitting quietly at the back of the house, overlooking the garden, this sunny room has twin beds either side of some drawers, and a small wardrobe.
BATHROOM This traditional bathroom has bath (unfortunately the jacuzzi feature isn't operational), a corner cubicle with a hand-held shower fixed to a riser, a wash basin with storage beneath, a WC, heated towel rail (towels are supplied for all guests), and plenty of natural light.
OUTSIDE The White House is on the edge of Tunstall Common, a 90 acre biological Site of Special Scientific Interest, with a maze of walks and fantastic cycle routes to explore, as well as the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of outstanding natural Beauty. Within walking distance are a couple of country pubs, The Green Man in Tunstall (25 mins) and The Ship at Blaxhall (approx 40 mins). The historical gem of Orford is less than five miles away with a bustling quay, river cruises, and welcoming pubs; Rendlesham and Tunstall forests are on the doorstep, and other popular places such as musical Snape, the colourful seaside town of Aldeburgh, and the market town of Woodbridge. To the side of the house there’s parking for one car (perhaps two if small and cleverly manoevered) and a space in the lay-by opposite. The gate from the drive opens into the courtyard area (suitable for storing bikes), and the fully enclosed garden which is a haven for birds - blue tits, chaffinchs, gold tits, etc. There are plenty of well-established plants and bushes surrounding a central grass area with a spacious patio where you can enjoy long lazy lunches in the summer months and a pretty little pond with a child safety grill on it for security.
There is a second private garden through a gate which isn't tended to and is purely for the owners' use. Please respect their privacy.
