Margo's Cottage is a stunning Victorian property located in the heart of Orford. It has been carefully renovated to an extremely high standard whilst retaining many original period features throughout. Fantastic in both the summer and winter months, Margo's cottage is perfect for the family holiday or perhaps two couples looking for a relaxing getaway.
Why Margo's Cottage? Well, Margo was an artist and potter and her tiles are still in the Coach House shower room (the neighbouring property) and her legacy of memories given to other people by her personality should be recognised! Whilst the house was being renovated the owners found their names time and again whether in writing behind cupboards or old wallpaper they documented their presence there themselves, or in the stories people told us of their lives here in this cottage.
GROUND FLOOR Kitchen - You enter into the fully stocked kitchen with Smeg appliances and a dishwasher. The property benefits from a large double oven which is perfect for the larger gatherings Shower Room / Loo / Utility area - Downstairs shower room and loo with a separate area for the washing machine and tumble dryer Dining Room - A gorgeous and spacious dining room with a large south facing window. Our favourite touch is the wood burner! Sitting Room - Another spacious room with extremely comfortable furniture. A lovely open fire and views overlooking the church Study - just off the sitting room you will find a little "study" alcove with a desk area
FIRST FLOOR Master Bedroom - Lovely king size bed and en-suite bathroom Second Bedroom - Can be made as either a king bed or a twin, this room is adjacent to the family bathroom Family bathroom - Family bathroom with Bath and loo
TOP FLOOR Twin room - This lovely room at the top of the house has two single beds (probably more suited to the kids!). You can also view the river from the window up here!
OUTSIDE Fantastically located, just off the market square, you also benefit from free street parking and a courtyard area with outdoor table and chairs
Please note that one of the king beds is in fact a "Zip and Link" so can be separated into a twin bedroom. Please indicate at the time of booking how you would like the house to be set up.
Please note, should government restrictions come into force that don't allow you to travel we will issue a full refund and disregard the cancellation policy.

A wonderful cottage, with lots of nice touches.
Orford is a lovely village, lots of good walks from the doorstep and good eateries.
Would recommend the cottage to couples or families (also dog friendly).
Lovely cottage. There was a smell of damp upon entering the bedrooms although this did mostly dissipate except for the master en-suite.
The beds were very comfy and it’s a lovely peaceful location opposite the church.
The kitchen is rather small but it’s workable.
We had trouble getting the TV freesat to work but the property manager was very helpful over the phone.
Overall we had a very nice stay there.
