About this property

Spacious Mid Century house, perfect for families and close to city center.

The Fullerton house is the perfect vacation home for a group of 14 or less. Conveniently located near downtown Hamilton, The Stock Farm and walking distance to Hamilton High and The Bitterroot Performing Arts Center. This home is great for housing family/friends for reunions, sporting events, group retreats, etc.

While on a hill, The Fullerton house has one of a kind views of the Bitterroot Valley and neighbors historic Marcus Daly (founder of Hamilton) era properties. Wildlife visits are common, such as the Great Horned Owl nests in the neighboring spruce trees, colorful little birds peak in the windows and deer lounge in the yard.

This is a 3500 square foot three story, five bedroom and two bath home. On the main floor, technically the 2nd floor is the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom with a shower, a master bedroom with a king and a bedroom with a queen. Third story has two bedrooms. The Blue room is a single built in twin and the Red room has 3 built in twins. Children love the top floor, it's a large space with a bathroom/shower/tub. The daylight basement has a new king bedroom with seating area and a TV. There is a separate kitchenette with coffee maker and microwave. This is a perfect place for a couple who needs more privacy or the loud snoring uncle. In the daylight basement the section that's unfinished has a ping pong table and can store bikes, winter recreational gear and fishing gear. Additional sleeping options: a queen air mattress and a single foldable bed is available. Please be accurate with guest count when booking.

Quaint and charming
We loved our stay at the house. The hostess was fabulous. It was quaint and charming and felt like an old house but was well maintained. The only challenge was they needed more bathrooms as there were only two.

A lovely stay
We came to Hamilton to visit family, and this property was the perfect configuration for us. The cousins enjoyed the upstairs "kid" rooms, and the adults had good space in the other rooms as well. The house has a lot of vintage charm, but with all the necessary updates to make it comfortable. Layna was very helpful and easy to communicate with. We had a lovely stay!

Exquisite house
The original 1940's features are amazing, especially the sleeping "cubbies" upstairs. Easy walk to downtown and Naps (Hamilton's justly popular burger grill). The house is going to be our first-choice place to stay from now on.

About the host

Host profile image
I am a 3rd generation Montanan born and raised in Hamilton. David is from Bellevue WA. We both work in the film industry, therefore we travel a lot for work. We live part time in North Hollywood, CA and the best part of our lives is when we return home to Hamilton. Hamilton has great food, hiking, skiing, fishing, birding, bowling and the community always has something fun planned each week. Plus, I think the folks who live in Hamilton are the best!

Why they chose this property

This property was custom built for Betty and Theo Fullerton and their 4 boys in 1948. Theo owned and worked Fullerton plumbing and heating. My grandmother and Betty were good friends and each time I walk into the kitchen I think of how they must have drank tea together. Fun fact: The giant Spruce behind the house was planted the year the youngest Fullerton son was born.

What makes this property unique

The Fullerton house sits on a hill next to historic Daly properties, which were built in 1890. I love the idea of mid-century modern brick house in the Bitterroot, which is very rare. When we purchased the house in 2017, we returned it to it's earliest state that we knew, the 3rd story bedrooms are painted the way it was when the Fullertons lived there. The furniture in the living room has colorful fun furniture. The house is decorated with a lot of David's mothers art, lamps and knick knacks. It's very quiet and comfortable and big enough to have your whole family stay.
