About this property
ABC acres' Guest House - Agritourism & Adventure in Montana's Bitterroot Valley!
(Please note there are four separate and unique rental homes on the property, please see Vrbo listings: Gate House 903543, Range View Cabin 2066081, & Yellow Farmhouse 2771749)
ABC acres is a permaculture farm in the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana. Sustainable food production, healthy living systems, and ecological design is what we are all about. Our chickens, goats, and newly buzzing honeybee populations are out on open pasture, eating, resting, pollinating, and living the way nature intended.
Much like our livestock family, our vegetables, herbs, fruits and nuts are grown with the same approach. It’s a mixture of annuals and perennials intertwined with pollinator species, companion plantings, and multi-structured food forests…. nature’s way… a way of ensuring diversity, reducing disease, and increasing harvest for an overall healthy farm.
The Guest House was built in 2014. Offering four dedicated bedrooms, 2 ½ bathrooms, comfortable living/dining space, and well-equipped kitchen, the Guest House interior sits at about 1800 sqft. The structure was built with no VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) both inside and out, and non-toxic spray foam insulation, which speaks to the underlying theme of healthy environments which pervade throughout the farmstead. The Guest House offers both forced heat and air conditioning for your comfort, complete with HEPA filtration for high quality interior air all season long. To insure a clean, healthy drinking/bathing experience, all water is routed through an iron filtration system then finally through an ‘Alive Water’ system to reinvigorate & re-energize the water at all points of use. On the exterior, a covered deck along with outdoor dining set and lounge furniture for your relaxation and viewing pleasure. Seasonal strawberry patches situated off the North side, as well as a selection of culinary herbs for use in the kitchen, are all yours to enjoy.
The Guest House is situated in the ‘heart of the farm’. Positioned alongside the current implement shed (home to machinery and equipment), the seasonal irrigation waterway (April to October) and in close proximity to the goat barn and livestock paddocks, the Guest House is witness to the daily activities of the farm. As a guest of the farm, and from the comfort of the west facing porch, you may witness farm staff running pasture irrigation, osprey fishing for trout in the waterway, goats bleating in the near distance, elk & deer grazing the pastures at dusk, and so much more. It is these on-farm experiences that give staying at the Guest House its charm.
Conveniently located just a few miles South of Hamilton, a short walk to the Bitterroot River, and bordered by picturesque farms and public lands, ABC acres provides an idyllic combination of wide-open spaces, wildlife, and outdoor adventure, while also remaining just minutes from the Valley’s small-town happenings.
Don’t hesitate to contact our Farm Stay Manager with any questions you might have, where/what you can explore, and how to best enjoy the abundance of on- and off-farm activities available. Beyond a place to simply rest your head, ABC acres is here to enhance your visit and help create memories for a lifetime.
