About this property
This house is a 3 bedroom(s), 2 bathrooms, located in Carbost, Scotland.
The Wolfie Lodge is a brand new Luxury offering in the township of Carbost right in the middle of Skye.
Come and relax in style, we have curated every detail with our guests in mind, so you can relax and unwind for the duration of your stay.
The nearby Talisker distillery, fairy pools, some dining options (including a great local pub) make this a perfect base for an adventure packed trip or a relaxing weekend away.
Please feel free to contact us during your stay
Carbost has the best mix on the island for quiet village feel coupled with great amenities and quick access to some of the islands top spots, and in the middle of the island as a base so you can access everything in different directions.
The local pub 'the old inn' has regular traditional music nights, great food and rural pub charm. The coffee shop 'Caora Dubh' has great coffee and pastries for a morning treat and the community shop if great for staples you might need for during your stay - and these are all a few minutes walking from the house. Next to the coffee shop there is the world famous Talisker distillery and associated restaurant 'three chimneys at Talisker' which is a great lunch spot.
A little further afield is the oyster shed, a top spot on the island for some fresh oysters and other seafood. Around a ten minute walk, and one of the best new brunch/lunch spots on the island 'cafe Cuil' is around a 5 minute drive, and a personal lesser known favorite 'Bog Myrtle' - a great vintage tea room style spot which features on 'designing the hebrides'.
The Glenbrittle road begins a few minutes from the house which takes you to the fairy pools (15 mins) and eventually to one of my favourite places on Skye - Glenbrittle beach. The adjacent campsite is a great spot for coffee and pizza in the afternoon, and its also the starting point to walk up into the mountains.
It also only takes around 20 minutes to drive to Portree to access the largest supermarket on Skye, the famous harbour, carious shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. From here you can drive on to sights like the old man of Storr, the Fairy Glen, the Quiraing, mealt falls and Staffin beach.
In another direction you can also drive to Neist point lighthouse for sunset, and also the area for Skyes top restaurants - the Edinbane Lodge, the Three Chimneys and the Loch Bay restaurant.
And heading south you can access the Elgol area which is the starting point for Bla Bheinn (for the more adventurous) or grab the boat to Loch Coruisk, or the Spar cave "one of the great wonders of Scotland".
The whole space and garden is exclusive for guests
The property blends space and light during the day with a warm and cosy feel in the evening. Watch the sunrise through the enormous aspect window with a morning coffee, or cosy down by the fire with a glass of wine in the evening.
Host a dinner for your full group at the large dining table or even play board games together - we made sure to include a full collection of some classics (as well as a lesser known Scottish one).
The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the modern conveniences like a drip coffee machine which you can set to a timer, dishwasher, bread maker and even a rice cooker. The attached utility-come-boot room is great for washing and drying clothes, and we even included a warmed bench seat for colder days when putting your wellies on : )
The master bedroom has a full king size bed, balcony, dressing table and tall windows to let the light stream in during the day. Here in the cupboard you can find all of the baby equipment including a high chair, baby bath and travel cot. There is also a floor mattress and single bedding stored in here for larger parties or those looking for flexibility.
The smaller bedrooms are very comfy and have plenty storage for two people, as well as tall mirrors with shelves to use for cosmetics.
We have two private parking spaces, and the whole village is very small and walkable. Generally a car is recommended on Skye for accessing the different parts of the island
