## Space
Quinta Tapada do Vale is a 320m² villa on two floors, sleeping up to 6 adults in total, set within a five-hectare private estate in Vila Mea, Carregal do Sal.
On the ground floor you will find an open living area with a fireplace, smart TV, a fully equipped kitchen opening onto a balcony with views over the vineyard, the garden, and the Serra da Estrela, and a dry sauna.
Upstairs, three double bedrooms each have a 200 x 220cm bed. The master suite has its own balcony with views of the Serra da Estrela, the Serra do Caramulo, and the pool. A home office with a single sofa bed is available for a nanny, child, or teenager. All bedrooms have air conditioning. Central heating with underfloor heating is available throughout the villa for cooler months.
Outside, the private pool with waterfall (4 x 10m, 1.70m deep) sits within the estate grounds, with sun loungers, an outdoor shower, and a fully equipped gourmet area alongside, including a BBQ and a smart TV. A fourth bathroom serves the pool and gourmet area. The garden extends to 1,000m², framed by a small private vineyard and a private olive grove of 500 olive trees.
As the light drops over the Dão, the estate holds a particular kind of quiet: vineyards on one side, the mountains on the horizon, and nothing in between.

## Neighborhood
Vila Mea is a small village in Carregal do Sal, in the Dão wine region of Central Portugal, close to the geographic centre of the country. The surrounding landscape is shaped by vineyards, cork oak, and pine, with the Serra da Estrela and Serra do Caramulo visible from the property.
The Dão is one of Portugal's oldest and most respected wine appellations. Several estates are within a short drive: Quinta de Cabriz, Pedra Cancela, Magnun Vinhos, Três Marias, and Dom Zulu, the producer of the estate wine, are all close by, with wine tasting available directly at the source. Carregal do Sal also has its own museum centre and a route of megalithic monuments worth exploring.
For dining, Mesa de Lemos holds a Michelin star and sits around 20 minutes from the property, set on a vineyard estate in Santar. Casa Piano and Restaurante Cabriz are both around 10 minutes away. Retur and 3 Pipos are within 15 minutes. All drive times are owner estimates and should be confirmed via Google Maps from the property address.
Viseu, the nearest city with a full range of shops, services, and its own dining scene, is around 30 minutes by car. The Montebelo Golf Course and the Montebelo Equestrian Centre are also reachable within a similar drive. For a longer outing, the Serra do Buçaco and the Palace Hotel Buçaco make a worthwhile destination, as does the Serra da Estrela mountain range for hiking or, in winter, skiing. The Atlantic coast at Figueira da Foz is within reach for a beach day.
## Transit
A car is essential for this location. The estate sits on a rural road outside Vila Mea, and public transport connections in the area are very limited.
Porto to the north and Lisbon to the south are both accessible via highway. Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto is the most practical entry point for international arrivals; Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon is the alternative. Drive times from both airports should be verified via Google Maps from the exact property address.
Parking on the private estate is included and straightforward.
