This home, about a half mile from the beach, is on a hill overlooking the Pacific. Sunsets over the ocean are magnificent. The hillside setting provides a constant breeze (and therefore very few mosquitoes) and beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding hillside.
The three-bedroom, two-bath home is fully air conditioned, has an infinity pool and a lovely open living room that also overlooks the ocean. Since it is in a gated community, you aren’t staying behind a security wall. There is a guard house at the base, which is 24/7 and a second gate closer to the property.
The Master bedroom has a queen size bed, master bath with tub, separate shower, and two sinks, and sliding doors onto pool deck.
The second bedroom has a full size bed, with sliding glass doors onto the pool deck.
There is a full sized bunk bed for families who prefer this sleeping option.
The third bedroom has a full size bed, with windows facing the jungle.
Bedrooms have excellent closets, with built in dressers.
Unlike many other gated communities, Mar Vista feels welcoming and relaxed.
All of the rooms have ceiling fans, which provide ample air circulation.
Amenities include:
• Fully stocked kitchen including microwave and dishwasher
• Wi-Fi

• Washer and dryer
• Outside shower to get the sand off
• Full use of club with swim-up bar, big pool and excellent restaurant
• Clay tennis court next to club/restaurant
• Well-maintained walking paths through the “dry jungle”
• Beautiful plantings
Grill by the pool or walk or drive 300 yards to the club and have a drink at the swim-up or traditional bar, or grab dinner in the restaurant.
Conchal and Flamingo, both very famous beaches, are a few minutes away. Hidden and less used beaches, known to locals and “those in the know,” are very near. Posted on a wall are directions to these beaches.
World famous surfing is 25 minutes away in Tamarindo and Playa Grande. Lessons and surf board rentals are readily available.
Zip lining, sport fishing, scuba and snorkeling, sailing trips and rentals, jet-ski rental, off-road quad rental, and eco tours are all locally available. Day trips to thermal baths and hiking in the National Park Rincon de la Vieja are wonderful. Tours and charters to undeveloped surf beaches accessible only by boat, like the very famous Witch’s Rock, are readily available.
There are three international schools in the immediate vicinity with the result that there is a sophisticated local ex-pat population. This means that, unlike in most of Costa Rica, there are supermarkets with a wide variety of foods, which is ideal if you like to cook and eat-in.
The nearby towns of Brasilito, Flamingo and Tamarindo have a variety of shops, restaurants, and bars from upscale to casual.
Liberia International airport is only an hour away.
