About this property

1 Bed in Skelwith Bridge (oc-lr159)

Access the towering fells and mighty lakes that put the Lake District National Park on the map, enjoying endless outdoor adventure as a pair with this handsome property as your inviting base. This light and airy abode sits within over an acre of wooded grounds in Skelwith Bridge, a beautiful Cumbrian village with picturesque surroundings, a country pub, and a much-loved riverside cafe. Enjoy gentle strolls to Loughrigg Tarn (1 mile) and Skelwith Force (300 metres), explore the rugged rock formations of Cathedral Cavern (3 miles), or visit Wray Castle (3.5 miles) on the shores of dazzling Lake Windermere. Everything in this spacious retreat is thoughtfully arranged. Step into the open-plan living space via French doors and savour the bright, welcoming ambience of this generously sized room. A central dual-aspect wood burner divides the kitchen and lounge areas, casting a cosy glow throughout. The well-equipped kitchen provides ample space for preparing meals, with both a central island and a large dining table creating the perfect place to gather. In the living area, comfortable seating is arranged around a TV/DVD, ideal for relaxing evenings after a day of exploration. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom offers a peaceful place to unwind, complete with fitted wardrobes and plenty of space to settle in. The spacious bathroom features both a large walk-in shower and a separate bath for a restorative soak.

Make the most of fine weather on the property's private patio, a charming outdoor space with seating for al fresco relaxation. From here, guests also have access to shared grounds with neighbouring properties, where towering trees provide a natural habitat for wildlife, including deer, badgers and red squirrels – allowing you to embrace nature without leaving home. Private parking for two cars is provided.

A great place to stay and to visit the Lakes. Tge cottage was very well presented, very clean and tidy with everything you need. The internet isn’t great but we weren’t in enough to let that be any problem. Thank you
