About this property
Purple Aster, Chateaux Condo, Pool, Hot tub, Sauna
Summary:
4 BR/3BA, Hot tub, Pool, Sauna! Parking for 2 vehicles.
The Space:
This is a fantastic 4 bedroom, 3 bath renovated Chateaux condo. Â Warm, comfortable and close to the slopes, a great place to start your adventures in Crested Butte. *** PLEASE NOTE as of 12/9/2025 the hot tub is under repair with repairs expected to be finished around mid-January 2026 and is not usable. The pool is available and kept heated during this time. Please note that all prices reflect this.***
The condo is setup with a fully equipped, renovated kitchen with about everything you will need to cook any meal. Â There is a dining table that comfortably seats 6 with additional seating for 4 at the bar top. Â The living room has a wood burning fireplace to warm up after a long day of recreating and a comfortable couch to relax on while watching tv. Â Firewood and free WIFI are complimentary through the HOA.
All bedrooms have a tv and the primary bedroom and first guest room have ensuite baths and king beds. Â Â Across from the dining area you have 2 more bedrooms and a shared full bath. Â These bedrooms are made up with a queen bed in one and a bunk room in the other. Â The bunk room has a twin over full bunk bed. Â This room has a VHS and DVD player to entertain the kids. There is also a video library in the living room with lots of movies to choose from along with family games. There is a coin operated washer and dryer on the second floor of the building.
The Chateaux complex has one of the only outside heated pools in the area that is operational throughout each ski and summer season. It does typically shut down after the ski season ends and reopens about the 3rd week of June to Labor Day. Also, in the complex, you will find a hot tub, sauna, bbq grill and dressing rooms that mimic the above closures and stay open through September. Â
All of our kitchens are fully stocked with pots, pans, cookware and utensils. While most properties have salt, pepper, and basic cooking pantry items, we do not guarantee these will be available upon arrival.
No bikes are allowed in the Chateaux buildings or condos. Â The HOA will fine you $100/day if they find that you are bringing your bike inside or if you have a pet with you. Â Bikes must be parked outside the building in the racks or on your car.
Please note that the pool/hot tub/sauna area is open seasonally. Â Typically it is open in season - winter season opening day to closing day and then will reopen late May or early June through Labor Day. For summer 2025 the pool will reopen for Memorial Day weekend. Â The pool will close after Labor Day but the hot tub will remain open for most of Sept. Â Please ask if this is an important piece for you!
The condo is on the bus route to the ski area and it runs through the complex every 20 minutes in the winter with 2 convenient stops on the property.
Guests 25 years or older are welcome. Â Those younger are welcome with their parent or guardian.
Please note that we do count all children and infants in the headcount for the property.
This property is not pet friendly.

The location of the condo was perfect! There is a bus just outside the building that takes you directly to the base within 5 minutes, or it’s just a quick walk across the street to get to the mountain. Our group of 3 families enjoyed the room layout and number of bathrooms. Everything was clean! The hot tub and pool were close and nice after a day of skiing. The pool was a bit chilly but we braved it with the kids and they loved it!
Our party of (9) was very impressed with our accommodations. From having a fully stocked kitchen, with all the necessary kitchen supplies, having shampoo in the bathrooms, and the whole place was clean and very nice.
We especially like the first floor set up, and the closeness to the pool and easy hop on bus stop, which makes going into town a breeze.
Spacious unit with good layout for large family. Only drawback was no views, which we new going in. But worth it for space for group to spread out. Would definitely rebook.

This is our second time staying at this condo complex and both times have been great! This time we stayed with another family and had 4 adults + 3 kids under 4 and felt like everyone had enough room. The walk to the base is not bad and there is a quick shuttle to and from the base area if you're not feeling the walk up the hill after a long day of skiing.
Crested Butte is a lovely mountain town. A great place to escape summer heat. The hosts are open and eager to make your visit enjoyable. The property is very spacious and the kitchen is well appointed. The property is an easy walk to Crested Butte Mountain lifts and the free bus shuttle service into town. We would definitely book again in the future.
My family of 5 visited Crested Butte for a long weekend ski trip at Spring Break. The condo was perfect for our needs. It's a short walk to the lifts or you can catch the shuttle for an even quicker trip. The condo is clean, comfortable and has a well-appointed kitchen (we cooked several meals there). The ground level location is great for hauling in all the ski gear and luggage. We very much enjoyed our stay!

Great location & experience
The condo was super convenient to the slopes being across the road but also right on the shuttle route. Condo was nicely decorated & well furnished. It was very clean & well kept. The managers were very accommodating when we asked to come a day early, brought extra paper goods, & when we locked ourselves out...oops! Roomy enough for our party of 7. Would definitely rent again!
Great place for family to stay. Only bad part was parking. Multiple cars there didn’t have tags and many places had more than the alotted 2 cars. We witnessed multiple cars just take their ticket off their window and throw them away.

We are so sorry with the parking issues at this complex. We'll reach out to the HOA manager your feedback so he can hopefully make the situation better up there. It was our understanding that he was towing w/o parking passes.
We really enjoyed our stay. The only issue was the check in instructions stated the get the key from the lock box and gave us the lock box code. There was no key there. We contacted management and they said the keypad on the door works with the code they gave us. All was well once we got in. Thanks!

Hi Lynn, so sorry on the confusion, we are in the process of putting keypads in all of our properties to make them safer for our guests and have been emailing our guests with new instructions as we go. So sorry if we miscommunicated with you and very happy that a quick call to the office rectified this. Again, our apologies.

CB Family Outing
Crested Butte has become one of my favorites in visiting Colorado. We stayed at this condo - 4 bedrooms - and the location and facility was very nice! For the most part, the stay was great. There were 6 adults and 1 toddler. Bedrooms for all. Upon check-in (a Saturday), some of the towels were not ready. I received a note to tell me they were working on it, and then received another note saying it would be morning before we would have them. There were no fans in the place, so drowning out the all-night party was not great. I tried to call the property management company on Sunday and they are not available until Monday morning. Too late!! Our check-out was Tuesday. Also, there was hair in one of the drains as I turned on the shower, indicating the shower had not be cleaned. Sunday morning, we went to make coffee, and there was no coffee provided at all. There was mention of the coffee pot in the description of not to throw away the filter, etc., so I would have thought they would have left some coffee since it was not a Keurig. Disappointing to not have any coffee or sugar for the price we paid. While I received a note about the towels not being ready, I responded to that email about the coffee, towels, and fans, but received no response in return. Still have not had a word. I put this lack of communication on the management company, however, I would like to have some compensation for the inconveniences. Otherwise, with a few tweaks, this place was great!!

Hi Dana, so nice to hear that CB is one of your favorite places. It is a pretty special place. In answer to some of your questions, when we opened the property we were lacking bath towels. We tried to track down our cleaners to get that laundry so we could get that laundered and back to you. Unfortunately they didn't bring them to our shop til the end of the day and we couldn't launder and get them back up to you on your check in day. To confirm there were 6 bath towels and about 10 spa towels so there were enough up there to get your through til morning. You confirmed in a private note that you had enough. I'm sorry about the party at a neighboring condo. That was totally uncool of those folks but to note it wasn't a property that we cared for. Our messaging system states that our office hours are 9-5 Mon-Friday and that we will check messages on the weekend b/w 10-4 so if you need something we can help. I do say on there that if its a question about a future reservation that we'll call you during our regular office hours. Since you didn't leave a message or send an email we were unaware that you needed fans or that there was a clog in the bathroom tub. For the latter I'm incredibly sorry, we should have caught that. The shower was cleaned but apparently the drain not cleaned out. Again if you had reached out to us we would have come back up to take care of that. We DON'T advertise we stock coffee but we do tell you what kind of machine and that there is a filter so you know what kind of coffee to bring. With that said we stock in plethora TP, Bounty, dish soap, dish detergent, laundry soap, bar soap, trash bags and pump soap so that you don't need to purchase any of those things. At some point we just have to draw the line. Admittedly I'm a coffee snob so I always bring my own. Again you mention how you reached out to us be we cannot find any email and certainly no voicemail from you. We WANT to help you when here as we want you to have a blast and come back year after year! That's why we are here. I know you said you blame us for communication but if you don't communicate with us, we have no way to assist.
Well, equipped, comfortable condo in a great location for youthful skiers
Well equipped, comfortable condo
located close to the slopes and on the bus line .
we enjoyed the hot tub, and lighting a fire after a fun day of skiing.
Highly recommend
A perfect place to stay! The condo has a great layout for two families with kids. The dishes, knives and kitchen utensils were definitely better than most rentals. Nicely decorated and has been updated from what the pictures show. Heated pool and hot tub a huge hit! Shuttle to the mountain quick and easy. We will stay here again!
We had a wonderful long weekend at this condo. It was perfectly located next to the mountain as well as a short walk to the bus to head into town. Highly recommend and plan to come back!
We had a great time! Walking distance from the ski lifts, but there is also a shuttle that stops right at the property. Great place with plenty of room for the family.
We rented the condo when we came to Crested Butte for a running race. It was a perfect place for eight of us to stay. It was my first time in Crested Butte. It is a great little town.
we had a great time staying here! We were able to hop on the free mountain express bus every morning to hit the ski slopes and the hot tub and sauna in the evenings were perfect.
This property was perfect for us! 3 couples, 3 kids and a baby. It had toys and dvds to keep kids entertained and it was very easy to check in to the property. The only small downside was that the property has very thin walls so if there is a crying baby then everyone is hearing it. That being said we would definitely stay here again.
