About this property

4 Bed in Whitby (oc-82262)

Set in the popular village of Danby, surrounded by beautiful moorland with glorious views across the Esk Valley. Buy local produce from the excellent health food shop, renowned bakery and café, within short walking distance and relive your day's adventures over a refreshing drink in the village pub nearby. Many walks and cycle routes for all levels start from the cottage or from the Moors National Park Visitor Centre on the edge of the village. Take in nearby Danby Castle and spectacular views from Danby Beacon. Hop aboard the local train to Whitby or drive to the nearby seaside favourites of Staithes, Runswick Bay and Sandsend. Castleton has a good range of shops, pubs, a bank, a tearoom and an art gallery, while Ainthorpe's ancient pub is a must.

Walk through the front garden to this welcoming cottage and step into the wide, open-plan lounge/diner. There are two large, comfortable sofas to relax on in front of the open fire after a day’s walking and exploration in this stunning area. Enjoy your meals sitting together at the large dining table, taking in wide-ranging views over the valley. Step from the lounge through to the 'snug' with additional seating and a small library of books about the Moors and ordnance survey maps to help you plan your days out. In the kitchen, you will find everything you need, including an electric double oven and electric hob, fridge, icemaker, microwave, dishwasher, washer/ dryer and Nespresso coffee maker. The door from the kitchen leads out to a small yard which is ideal for bike storage. On the first floor, you find three bedrooms: a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, each with a built-in wardrobe, plus a single bedroom. The family bathroom has a bath, a separate shower and WC. The master bedroom is located on the second floor, with a king-size bed and four bar stools at the window where you can sit and gaze over the open countryside, watch the sun go down and stargaze long into the night. The en-suite shower room includes a WC.

At the front of the house, the south-facing, enclosed garden is furnished with bench seating and lounge chairs, encouraging you to sit in the sunshine and admire the views. Off-road parking is opposite the house, subject to availability, and there is additional parking in the village.
